Anyone else with a baby stuck in their ribs?

This is just a vent since I'm home with no one but the cats and dog to complain to.

No matter what position I get in today, Baby Girl insists on pushing up into my ribs.  From her constant motion, it would appear that this is not comfortable for her.  It is certainly not comfortable for me.  I keep telling her that there's more room down below, but she's not listening.

I know that "lightening" has it's own set of discomforts, but I really can't wait for her to move down!

  • I am so small and have such a short torso that my baby has been in my ribs since about 5 1/2 months.  No joke.  Pain, pain, pain!!!!  Even now that I've "dropped", with the baby having grown, it's still in my ribs and just as painful as ever.  I feel a constant, strong pushing outward on my ribs (front and back) that at times makes me just want to cry.  I have no doubt that this baby will be bigger at birth than my daughter because it's totally out of room in there and I never had THIS much pain with her.

  • I was just thinking that there's no way I'm going to make 3 more weeks like this - I can't imagine how you've lasted 3-4 months!  It is truly so uncomfortable.  I would definitely be crying by now.

    Good luck to you!

  • Yes, my baby is WAY up in my ribs, right under my boobs.  It makes me wonder how in the heck I'm ever going to push it down and out  =/

  • My baby girl is transverse so she goes from feet in the ribs to feet pushing hips apart.

  • I feel your pain!!! My mom said she never dropped with any of her five kids... is that what I have to look forward to? Ugh!!

I didn't realize until I read this....I dropped about 1.5 wks ago but baby is still up in my ribs...it is either bruised or, quite possibly, cracked. Every time LO moves I just want to cry. I have a very short torso as well, so LO has no where else to go :(

  • Ugh yup.. lo actually pushed one of my floating ribs out one night whiel I was sleeping, I couldn't breathe for hours it hurt so much. Its usually on the right side too, not sure exactly what it is about that side but he kicks the heck out of me there and it hurts. I agree about wanting to have the dropping happen, I know it comes w/ its own set of issues but I'm ready for a change, the heartburn and rib pain are something else.
