Thanks Skroops for finding it! A few of those ppl aren't around any more. I do find it interesting that the Nest isn't picking up new groups of newly weds each year, I would have thought it would have picked up again by now with new members. When I got married in spring of 05, the Nest was brand new and there were only about 2 posts a week but by the mid fall, there were multple posts daily. Where are all the Knotties going? Or are there any Knoties any more?

Skroops is my hero! I just got done reading through that infamous post. I'm glad I stayed out of it but I remember enjoying the drama from afar that day.

Interesting! After it was brought up yesterday, I was curious about this post but didn't want to look around much for it.

It's interesting to me because I was just barely pregnant when this post came about and I don't think I had found this board yet. I did use TK, but under a different name, and can't really remember using TN.

Haha, that happened like a couple weeks after dd was born. Pets had a baby fall out right while I was pg with dd too. I didn't leave necessarily because of that....but my life became a lot more consumed with baby issues than dog issues.

Oh - and the thing with where did the knotties go? I think the knot board is all different now. It isn't the same. I looked when I was trying to help my sister with her wedding this summer. They separated it, now there is an upstate and a western. Plus it is strictly wedding related, like just recs for vendors. And hardly any replies. They also added in month of wedding boards, so maybe people don't care as much about the local or don't know about it?

It is interesting how boards sort of become their own clique. I used to like the P+CE board back when it was E08. At the time, they sort of had an unwritten anti-baby post rule, anti anything not P+CE really. I had a baby then but wasn't interested in posting about him on that board, I was more interested in the politics of the board. FF to now, that board is consumed with boobs, bumps + bottles. Lots of the same ppl, just how their lives have evolved amung the group.

I'm with you. I totally thought I posted in that thread. But there was another one that I think was a precursor to this or maybe it was after because it involved a few others who didn't post in that thread. I'm not about to dig for it though I'm not as patient as Skcoops.

Yeah, I'm surprised I only posted in it once. I thought I posted more than that. I remember feeling like it was the end of the board simply because no one was posting much that didn't involve baby stuff. People were complaining that 75% or whatever of the posts were baby related, but not many people were really stepping up to post any other topics. There were several posts about it before that one, but that was the ONE that lead to the mass migration.

I think what it boils down to is that once everyone ran out of "newlywed life is wonderful" and "let me tell you about my honeymoon" type of posts, baby stuff was really just the next step. What else did anyone really have to post that would relate to the majority of people?

I forgot all about this and I am glad that i don't see anything from me.

While I took a break I realize that bumping/nesting is enjoyable and a mental break during the day. I always like the new ideas and information that I get from the boards.

I am also "friends" with so many nesties on Facebook that I forget where I get updates on families, adventures etc. I now realize that some people don't post here even though I know through FB that they are living the mommyhood lifestyle.

I have no idea how to find an old post. But I jokingly said that I was making an executive decision to use this board b/c I was hurt about the negative comments. I was the one that posted like 3 bf questions b/c it was such a struggle for me. Then after my post someone complained about all the baby posts.

Abba-were you pregnant? maybe that is why you didn't comment?

I still have my friends and added some new ones through the years.

Me too....I did post in another thread about not moving over here. I was pretty attached to the nest! lol But here we are and I couldn't be happier! I do miss some of the ROC nesties, I just don't have the time or energy to follow more boards.

Jewels - I remember being very glad we all came over here. It was right after dd was born and I had tons of bfing issues after that. I also was glad that people like you and Melissa had posted about their own struggles, so that I didn't feel like it was just me.
