Babymoon Birth Center vs. Blossom

Has anyone been to either?  Any feedback/recommendations?  Thank you for your help.

Re: Babymoon Birth Center vs. Blossom

  • i toured babymoon and they were SUPER sweet. very chatty and sat down with us and were actually interested in our story, etc. it's a husband and wife and they seemed really awesome.

i had scheduled a tour for blossom as well but ended up cancelling it. the cost for me to birth there as opposed to an in-network hospital was too much of a difference with me being a SAHM. we have really great out of network coverage (80/20) but for me to birth in a hospital it's $100 total, so it was a pretty substantial difference . i found a midwife office who was on the same page with me as far as how i wanted my birth to go, and loved the hospital i used (phx baptist).good thing i decided not to do the birth center anyway, because i barely made it to the hospital and had my daughter 10 minutes after getting into an l&d room. i'd have been pissed if i spent all that money, lol.

good luck with whatever you decide! i've heard great things about blossom as well.

  • I've heard great reviews of both facilities.  They offer tours to prospective parents so definitely check them out!

Like the previous poster, my insurance didn't cover birth centers (and zero out-of-network benefits) so I went with my in-network copay.  I couldn't justify spending $4 to 5K just on the birth and go into that much debt as a new parent.

I saw the CNMs at St. Joe's and had a great experience there for an unmedicated natural birth.

i considered them too! i ended up going with bethany women's healthcare and delivering at phoenix baptist becausei was super excited about laboring in their awesome jetted tubs but that didn't end up happening!
