Ok, I'm having a moment. I know I'm being paranoid, but I can't talk myself out of it! I've always been a paranoid person, but this pregnancy is really making it worse.
My dad sent me some beef sticks through the mail and as soon as I saw them I immediately ate a few without thinking about it. They were made at a meat market close to where he lives in Wisconsin, which is a bit of a distance from here. Now I'm paranoid about listeria
Mostly it annoys me that everything seems to be off limits to pregnant women, and what are we supposed to do? Chain ourselves to the bed for 9 months? On the other hand, a part of my worrywart brain is saying "You could be that 1-in-whatever-statistic that gets infected!"
Will someone please tell me that I'm being crazy? Sometimes I need a reality check.
Re: Having a paranoid pregnant moment
I eat that kind of stuff fairly regularly. If you don't start feeling unwell, it's probably fine.
Factor V Leiden Homozygous, Advanced Maternal Age
TTC #1, 5 yrs, PCOS, Femera + Ovidrel.
IUI#3 BFP, DD 5/31/2012
TTC #2, 2 yrs, PCOS, Femera+Ovidrel
IUI#2 BFP!
You're being crazy
What's done is done and you can't un-eat them now. I'm sure you'll be fine.
This is why I LOVE my ob..He made sure to tell me not to be paranoid like this. He said would I tell an Asian women not to eat sushi or woman from Europe not to eat cheese ( most of it is unpasteurized). He said to just use good judgement and if it smells good and taste okay then it is probably okay.
For instance...I eat turkey lunch meat almost every damn day. I love feta and I have that on occasion too! I have had an ridiculous craving for tuna salad and I swear I ate tuna for 3 days straight...Your fine don't worry your pregnancy away and enjoy that beef jerky
Make a pregnancy ticker
Thank you ladies!
I don't know how many times I've told myself that I need to step away from Google. Hopefully one of these days I'll listen!

Ditto. I have eaten lots of things on the no-no list. I drink coffee just about every day, I've had pigs in a blanket multiple times (room temp at that), I've had feta, blue cheese, brie, pork roll, eggs over medium, tuna, etc. and we are just fine. Like PP said, my little one and I are both healthy and I'm not worried. You'll be fine. There are tons of women who don't even know these rules and deliver perfectly healthy babes.
Thanks again everyone
I had a feeling I was being a nutcase. I'm the "what if?" queen and I swear I'm going to drive myself crazy one of these days!
