I've had one done, and honestly, it's about the same as getting a pap smear. You don't really have any nerve endings on your cervix so all you'll feel is slight pressure from them taking the samples. It is a piece of cake.
You may just want to wear a pad afterward in case you bleed a little or that stuff they put to stop the bleeding can come out a little.

I had one done last month.. and it wasn't as bad as I built it up to be in my mind. Certainly uncomfortable, but not far from what a pap is like. Luckily, I didn't have to have any samples taken, so I can't speak to that.
I've had 2. The first one was horrible! But that's because they had to do a biopsy while they were in there and that hurt horribly, no numbing or nothing, they just scraped stuff out.

They did a biopsy with mine as well, but it didn't hurt at all. It was much worse in my head because I was tense and nervous than it was in reality.

I had a biopsy done almost 10 years ago and it wasn't fun but it wasn't unbearable. Just make DH cook you dinner that night while you relax on the couch.

I can see that, I was probably just scared. Oh well, the things women go through.
Good luck tomorrow! I hope it is easy and painless!

You all know I had one just recently. It's not bad at all - certainly better than the LEEP, which you probably won't have to have since your condition is mild.
Just keep in mind that whatever you have to go through now, is much better than the chemo/hysterectomy you'd inevitably have to have if you did nothing now!
I've had a colpo and I didn't think it was that bad. It was much more anxiety producing than it needed to be. The procedure didn't take long and it was just mildy uncomfortable (having my teeth cleaned hurt far worse). The best part is that your gyn can tell right away if she/he sees something abnormal. Not like waiting for a Pap to come back from the lab.
Re: Colpo in the morning, need some nestie dust!
Lots of healthy cervix dust to you!

The second one was fine. Reminded me of a pap.

I had one done many years ago. I agree with pp's it is really no worse then a pap. It is longer however, but I did not have any pain or anything.
