implantation bleeding count as lmp?

I have a question because it has been driving me nuts.

I had "implantation bleeding" on Nov 11th. it was REALLLLY light spotting on and off for 4 days. When i took a pregnancy test it came up negative, then once i didnt get my december period i took another one and it came up positive.

Was the implantation bleeding considered a regular period? I took a test that came up negative, but im wondering if the pregnancy hormones werent high enough to detect it yet.

Any thoughts or anyone who went through something similar?

can you explain the dates a little better? But I'd say that no, implantation bleeding can't be LMP because it wouldn't be a period, it would be the baby snuggling into your uterus.

are you looking to figure out your EDD?

It was most likely not implantation bleeding. Possibly could be ovulation spotting, which I did have but it was just once when I wiped. Implantation occurs approx 7 days after ovulation . An HPT usually won't detect a BFP until 10 dpo or later.

Use the date of your last normal period.

OK. here are some more details.

My periods are ALWAYS regular. This came a few days BEFORE i was suppose to get my period and as i said, it was very light on and off. The last time i had a "real" period before this was October 14th or around there.

I am tryin to figure out my EDD because on 12/15, they counted the 11th as my lmp. they said i was 5 weeks and 3 days along. Once i went to the place where i was actually getting treatment, they said i was 7 weeks along at 12.21.11 which doesnt make sense bc they gave me a due date of 8/19/11, which means NOW is should be 7 and a half weeks.

If i use the timeline they gave me 12/21 being 7 weeks, i should be 9 weeks and 1 day, but i am not showing at all yet and have not gained much weight. But if we go by the October LMP i should be much further, basically in the 2nd trimester, which still doesnt make sense.

Its massively confusing. Any thoughts?

you need a dating u/s. Tell your OB you have no idea how far along you are or when your LMP was and that you want an u/s to date the PG to make sure you are receiving appropriate care for how far along you are. GL!

Period- 10/14

BFP when?

I am guessing you actually got a very light period on 11/11 and then got your BFP thereafter, which would put you at about 7-8 weeks now.

Otherwise you are about 11-12 weeks now.

either way, you might want to call and clarify this with your doctor because if you are getting NT scan done you need to make sure it is in the exact window. They should do a dating u/s for you as well.

it sounds like 11/11/11 was actually your period and not implantation. Again, I think you need a dating u/s

It does sound like 11/11 was your period (even if it was light), especially since your last one before that was the same time in October. Of course, you won't know for sure until your first u/s. I'm dating 7 days ahead of LMP so they through my original EDD out the window at my last visit.

Oh and don't worry about the lack of weight gain or not showing yet. I'm over 10 weeks, not showing and have only gained 1 lb so far (and that was after a week-long holiday bingefest).

Your dates almost exactly match up with mine. I think your LMP was probably 11/11 and was just a light one. Mine was 11/13 and I got a +HPT on 12/14. My due date is tentatively set for 8/19/12 until I have my dating U/S.
