I'm not sure if LO is going through a growth spurt... but he was up every 40 mins - hour last night... causing his mommy to be very very frustrated this morning. I was told to not pump until about the 4 week mark in order to get my full milk supply in. Well, I'm getting very nervous about our supply because I'm going back to work after 6 weeks. We have less than 12 oz. in the freezer right now. So I fed him again this morning... and tried to pump. I got less than a flipping oz! I pumped for about 15-20 minutes... and less than an oz.
How and when did you ladies start to stock your supply? I'm concerned that he's not getting enough to eat - hence his up every 40 minutes last night.
If you did pump... when did/do you pump in order to make sure that I'm not pumping my entire supply and he gets nothing?!
Re: pumping... and nothing!
Sounds like cluster feeding so you'll get vry little milk if you pump afterwards.
I wasn't getting much when I pumped after a feeding- like 1/2 oz so now I pump an hour after a feeding in the mornings and early afternoons. DS cluster feeds every hour in the evening so I don't pump then so he'll get enough milk. I have gone from getting 1-2 oz to 4-5 per day this week. Hopefully it will continue to increase!

I'm EP and even I don't have an ounce after 15-20 minutes of pumping! It usually takes me 45-60 minutes to get 3-4oz/side on a GOOD pump. Give yourself a break and just keep at it. It probably isn't helping matters that you're in the middle of a growth spurt/cluster feeding.
