And you would never believe what happened. This court date was set because my ex filed a motion to vacate (change the child support order that was put in Dec. 2nd.). He not only strolled into the court room 20 minutes late, but now I found out that he quit his job! Can you believe it?? Now this only delays child support even longer. My LO is almost 10 months old and I have yet to see a dime from him. We got a continuance for Jan 20th now. UGH! I'm soo over going to court because his dumb a$$ can't keep his stories straight. At least he's a trust fund baby and has a steady income coming in from that and owes almost 10 months of back pay. Hopefully, this will be our final court date! Please keep your fingers crossed for me so we can finally finalize this child support.
Re: Had court today...
Were there any discussions regarding visitation? Or was he only trying to vacate the CS order?
Sorry this is dragging out for you.

Yes, it will accrue so it's not like he's escaping it, however I totally empathize with your frustration. The entire court system seems like it's "hurry up and wait".
^^ Exactly!! It seems like the deadbeats are the ones who ultimately benefit sometimes. My XH asked for a modification and it's been dragging out for a few months now. Not that I really care, he hasn't been paying me for the last several years anyways and his arrearages just keep building. But my husband who is not only on time with his CS payments every month, provides health insurance for his daughter (and me and my children), and pays EXTRA each month gets admonished by the Judge if he asks for any sort of continuance for work schedule conflicts. Seriously?! It feels at times that the Courts are so eager to bring the hammer down on the dads they can find easily, and let the deadbeats run amok since they're harder and take more effort to pin down.
Sorry, I needed to vent a bit too I guess LOL. I'll keep sending positive thoughts your way while this is all playing out. Just remember that those arrearags will never go away until they are paid down. So even if it takes him 20 years to do it, it WILL haunt him.
