Setting up car seats?

I currently have a 21 month old toddler and im 37 weeks along with our second child. I have a Nissan Versa which I know is a small car, but im still going to have it for another few months till I get something bigger. How should I set up the two car seats? Since my car is small, I think im going to end up having to place each car seat behind each front seat. Im not sure if I should have the toddler behind the drivers seat and the newborn behind the passenger or vice versa. Any help please?

Re: Setting up car seats?

  • I have my toddler behind the passenger seat. When we forward faced at 2 years it was easier to hand him things or talk to him. I usually get my DD out of the car first so she's handy right behind me. Good luck with your new addition! It is crazy but lots of fun :)

  • In a small car I would put the forward facing seat behind the driver so your seat isn't up to the steering wheel.

When #2 comes, we are putting DD's seat behind the driver. H takes naps in the car and needs to be able to recline his seat as much as possible.

That makes more sense for you definitely! You know how some people drive with their knee? I could drive with my thigh I sit so close to the wheel :)
