My eyebrows are angry!

I've been getting my eyebrows waxed for years, but I've been lazy lately and went for the first time since being pregnant...and WOW, I woke up to swollen, red, angry eyebrows! The wax wasn't hotter than usual or anything, and they seemed normal yesterday...maybe due to the increase in hormones or something? Crazy!

Of course they decide to flare up the day of an important "shadow day" at a potential new job...oops! ;)

  • Same thing happens to me now.  I started getting them threaded and it is much better.

  • I need to get mine done so badly!  Last time I went, it hurt like crazy.  The lady said it's normal to hurt more when you're pregnant, but now I'm scared to go back.  But I need to suck it up and go because they are seriously starting to annoy the crap out of me.

I keep seeing this in the malls but I didn't really know what it was about.  Does it work as well as waxing?  Does it hurt?

I need to get mine done but even plucking makes my eyebrows "angry" at this point, hehe!

For me, it is way more effective than waxing is, and doesn't hurt as much.  Other people say it hurts more. Waxing I had to go in once every three weeks, and had nasty regrowth quickly.  Threading I go about once a month, but don't get as much of the scary regrowth. Some, yes, but not as scary looking.  I always suggest that people try it once, and see if they like it.

I'm very intrigued with threading. Unfortunately, the only ones I know of in my area are the kiosks in the middle of the mall.  Anyone who walks by is free to stand and stare. Sad Public grooming is just NMS so I haven't been able to talk myself into it yet. Luckily I love how my usual esthetician does them.

ETA:I forgot! The last time I had mine done (about a month ago) she put a benadryl cream on afterwards and it really seemed to help. Maybe you could pick some up on your way? Good luck!

hydrocortisone cream and/or benadryl.  It sounds like an allergic reaction. I hope it goes away before you have to shadow!

  • I love threading! It hurts about as much as plucking but is much much quicker. I hate waxing because of the way it makes my skin swell. They just set up a threading salon in our mall and I'm excited to go!
