Did you get a blood test?

I hear people getting blood tests after their BFP and finding out what their levels are. For both of my pregnancies, the doctor just asked "did you take a home test? Then you're pregnant. See you at 8 week!"

I'm just trying to figure out the what's the norm.

no blood test for me. I also told her I took two and both were positive, she just asked if i was taking my prenatal vitamins. I think I will be at 9 weeks at my appointment. I kind of wish she would have wanted to do the blood test or schedule an appointment sooner....

No blood test for me. I took 3 tests at home and one more pee test at the office and she was like, "You're 6 weeks, here's some information, see you in 4 weeks!"

I got a blood test. 11 vials of blood to be exact lol I am high risk due to a blood clotting disorder so I think that had a lot to do with it. I also had to go back in for a second HCG draw 48 hours later. And I've had a few other blood tests since then. I feel like I'm always being poked lol

I requested one. But, my doctor's office was not going to do one otherwise. In fact, she told me they have to code the bloodwork as "suspected miscarriage" in order to have it covered by insurance and that I shouldnt be worried when I see it.

I didn't get one with my first two pregnancies. I got one with the last pregnancy when things were looking like I was going to miscarry, which I did. I got one right away with this pregnancy due to my semi-recent loss.

I did! I requested it. I got my blood drawn right after my first doc appt and then two days later.

I had one done last week to confirm the pregnancy for the insurance company. They said that I was about 7 weeks and that I could go get a u/s between 8-9 weeks for dating and viability. It was the same with my last pregnancy.

Nope, no blood test. But my midwife is extremely relaxed about everything. She doesn't even ask me to weigh myself. She's awesome.

My Dr. wanted to date my pregnancy because of inconsistent periods and blah blah blah.

Not everyone gets HCG test done.

I didn't. I even called my birthing center and asked for one, but they said if I still insisted at my first appt (at 10 weeks!) they'd give me one.

No blood test for me. I had my first appointment today to confirm my pregnancy by u/s.

I got both a beta HCG and a progesterone check numerous times, this was only because I had 2 previous miscarriages. Count yourself lucky if you do not have to have blood work done.

I took 2 HPTs both positive, and called our base clinic, since we are military they require a blood test to have in my file, so I had to have a pregnancy blood test done before they would set anything else in motion for me.

I had one to test my progesterone and betas. It may be because I had a c/p last summer.

I went to the doctor to confirm and they did a urine test which came back negative so then I was ordered a blood test.

I called the doctor yesterday to make an appointment and just told her I found out on Monday I was pregnant. The only thing the nurse asked was the first day of my last period.

I believe I am having blood work done at my first appointment (9 weeks), which she called "Nurses Education." I don't see the actual doctor until week 11.

I requested to have something to confirm i was pregnant so they said i could come in for a blood test. We had been trying for over a year with no luck so when i got a positive at home i didnt believe it.

I had a BFP, called the OB, and they scheduled me for an appointment at 9-weeks. Never had my pregnancy confirmed by the doctor until then and it was confirmed by ultrasound.

I just had my blood test today, just to confirm pregnancy, my doctor won't see you before a +blood test. But at my other doctors office with DS, they didn't do a blood test until 10 weeks to test for diseases and all those good things. So obviously either is normal, depends on doctors preferences, just like some people get multiple u/s and others only get one at 20 weeks.
