Jen and I have joked about how we bring gay marriage wherever we go, because we got engaged in Boston in 2003 and planned our wedding for June 2004. Gay marriage became legal in Mass. late that spring. We moved to DC in 2007 and got a lame-o domestic partnership. In July 2009 DC started recognizing out-of-state gay marriage, and in 2010 made performance of gay marriages legal.
We usually say that we're moving to Oregon since we're moving to the Portland area, but technically we plan to live just across the border in Vancouver, Washington. I'm guessing that is what caused this to happen: https://www.kirotv.com/news/news/gov-gregoire-its-time-legalize-same-sex-marriage-w/nGFhY/
Right??

Maybe if we just park you in the Capital building it will get rid of DOMA and that would be a great help.

I may be the opposite. After we got married in MA, we moved to CA. Enter Prop. 8.
Yeah, could you go to DC? Then we'd all benefit you spreading your, um, seed.

Cautiously optimistic.
Oh, this Capitol thing is ruining my theory, because I only live a mile or two from there and we don't seem to be moving on federal gay marriage. (Although, on that note, I'm having a good time laughing at the Republican candidates promising a Constitutional ban on gay marriage. They have to know that there is zero chance of that ever gaining the required super-majority (67%) in Congress and super-super-majority (75%) of states. That door, although closed very recently - I would say even in just the last 5 years - is not going to open again anytime soon.)
MN please! We need to defeat an amendment this year
Haha, love this! Of COURSE you're right.
And yes, that's MY governor who I have voted for in every single heated election she's been through in our state. She's at the end of her term and I really really hope this will pass. She gave quite the passionate speech yesterday.
And because you're moving closer that means we're gonna do a meetup somewhere in WA right? RIGHT??? I see a road trip in our future!
