C-sections

Help me out here....hospital bag

So last time I went in for an induction and 48 hours later had a C-Section.  I ended up using maybe 15% of what was in my bag.

What would you pack for a repeat C-Section?  I plan on buying some thow-away Wal-Mart nightgowns and some slippers.  Other than that... I am blanking.

Re: Help me out here....hospital bag

  • I bring my own pillows (one to lay on and one to push into the incision area to laugh, sneeze, cough, etc.)

Boppy Pillow...makes feeding easier for both formula and breast on that first day when you really can't move around...

I bring my own toiletries, hair dryer, etc.  Once I can I go and shower and doing my hair makes me feel so much better.

a going home outfit that won't hit my section incision.

My own pads (I can't stand the hospital ones after I am up and about)

My own underwear (again, the mesh ones itch me..so once I can I switch over to my own)

    Slippers to walk around

    Robe to walk around

    baby going home outfit

I bring my own nightgowns (I get the lands end ones...comfy yet not expensive)  I don't get the throw away thing...I guess I have never bled to the point that I would ever need to throw anything away.  I use my nightgowns for a while after birth.

    Thats me though.

  • I brought my own pillow and toiletries.  I also had a couple of nightgowns/lounge outfits.  Some snacks for in between meals were very helpful.  I had my computer and camera.  This time around I will remember to bring my own socks/slippers and a robe.
