Hemmes daybed from ikea?

does anyone have this for their lo and if so, were you able to use a bed rail with it?

Re: Hemmes daybed from ikea?

  • We have it and LOVE it. We did not use a day bed, but I think it would be fine. If she had rolled out of bed, she wouldn't have fallen far. We just put her in the corner of the bed and she did fine.

We used it as the full bed this Christmas with lots of family staying, and they loved it.

  • We thought about getting the day bed but ultimately got the regular Hemnes twin bed because of a comment someone made at the store.  I was sliding the daybed part in and out and it rolled very nicely.  A woman shopping there said that she had the bed and it was very hard to pull out on carpeted floor.  I looked underneath and there isn't much clearance there.  Not an issue if you have hardwood floors or if you'll pull it out so infrequently that you don't care, but something to think about.  Also, they make a taller nightstand to go with it as the bed is higher off the ground.
  • I have this bed for my 3 year old.  She's been using it since 2 1/2.  We have a bed rail that we use with it and it works great.  We still use it b/c she gets out of bed and comes into our room if she doesn't have it up even though she can get out of bed easily with it up.  So we are keeping the bedrail up for as long as possible.  We got the bed rail at Target. It's blue mesh with a white railing. They were out of the white mesh/white railing.  I can't think of the brand.  Baby First maybe.  good luck.
