Ask your doctor if Flomax would be a good medication for you. Also, there is a medication called Toradol that's available orally (It's the drug of choice IV in the hospital).
Sometimes finding out what the stone is made of can help in preventing them. This means straining all your urine and collecting the evil little buggers. Some are calcium based, due to the high mineral content of the Texas water supply. Drinking distilled water instead of any other kind of water can be beneficial in those cases.
Be aware of your risk for UTI. Make sure you know how to give a perfect clean catch urine specimen. I can email you specifics if you need it.
Taytee that's how we've caught them-kind of. I've been feeling like I have a UTI on and off for the past month but I don't have an infection. Just blood in my urine which I can't see. The NP at my urologists office sent me for a CT scan with contrast.
They seem to be taking the "wait and see" approach. I have an appt with them anyway on the 26th and they don't think they will pass before then. However she did call in prescriptions for norco and zofran to my pharmacy "just in case".
Im still BFing DS. Do you happen to know if I can take the meds you mentioned?
I've had one before. long story short, I couldn't afford any type of procedure to break them up (I was sans insurance at the time), so I had to pass it. It hurt like a mo-fo. The part that hurt was the traveling of the stone. I never noticed the actual passing. I remember being in bed all day in great, great pain.
I am sorry you have them.

I have had many of them. Are you in pain? Does your urologist have a sense of how large they are? I just had a procedure to remove two, but they'd been sitting in my kidney for over a year without causing too much trouble... msg me on FB if you want more info. GL!
