Talked to OB tonight and I started clomid tonight Yikes! We discussed this possibilty a couple months ago so I was well informed already and pretty much knew this appointment would most likely lead to that. My OB is speculating I am not ovualting every month. Ovulation sticks he said are not that accurate. They show a spike in LH(?) but that doesn't mean for sure Ovualtion. Anyway he let me start taking it tonight so I am a little freaked out. I know it increases twin chances but he said it increases from 2% to 5% so not much.
So anyway I am feeling much more positive now. When I got home and told DH he got almost giddy. I was not realizing how disappointed he was getting each time.
Re: Feeling better from my earlier rant
Good luck! My cousin took clomid and got pg her first month with it. I hope you have the same happen to you!

I'm not sure what your issues are and I am not trying to rain on your parade, but were you tested for anything? Like PCOS or Endo etc.? Did your husband have an SA? I have PCOS and saw an RE (but, thankfully got pregnant just by taking Metformin for my PCOS, so I didn't need RE intervention). Anyway, Clomid may not always be the answer and you also need to be monitored on it. I strongly suggest you speak with an RE before you start taking cycles of Clomid, but that is just my opinion. Best wishes!
All of this. Clomid can lead to High Order Multiples if you aren't monitored. We just had a Mom on SAIF who had to cancel her cycle due to overresponse (9 follicles)
You shouold really have both you and DH tested before proceeding in case ovulation isn't the issue and have monitoring to make sure you don't over respond.
I guess I am not sure what you guys mean by monitored??? He gave me a low dose to take. I am suppose to start temping and then I have to go back and have blood tests done throughout this cycle. Is that what you mean by monitoring? I fully trust my OB. Well actually both of them. There are two OB's at my office both of which I see and they both agreed that this was my route to take.
We mean u/s to monitor how many follies are developing. Clomid can create multiple viable eggs and that is what leads to trips, quads, or quints.
OBs are great for pregnancy not so great for TTC safely. I'd push/insist on a minimum of 1 u/s prior to ovulation.
Clomid is serious stuff and you'd really be safer seeing an RE who knows what they're doing and will do their best to avoid HOMs
Thanks for the advice I will call him next week and ask about an ultrasound
What hope said. Also, I've never taken clomid, but have heard that you can only take it so many times in your life (not too sure of the side effects), but I would look into it. Definitely check out the TTTC board, those girls are very knowledgable. HTH.
I would also just make sure you are being monitored through ultrasounds. I wanted to let you know that Clomid is not all that bad. Some of these responses would have scared me if I were just starting it. I had no side effects from Clomid, and I went up to a pretty high dose, so not everyone has a negative response to it. I also didn't get pregnant on it. If it doesn't work after two or three months, be proactive and get a SA done and find yourself an RE.
