Post-baby nookie (Seriously TMI)

I got the green light from my doctor this morning and, well, DH and I just couldn't wait until tonight.  I was so nervous that it would hurt, or not feel as good as it used to.  But I was seriously pleasantly surprised to find out that it was better than it ever has been!  I don't know if it's because it had been so long, or if it's all the hormones I've got going on right now, or what.  It was uncomfortable at first, but once things got going I didn't feel any pain, and I got really into it.  I'm a little sore now but nothing that bothers me much.

Oh, and for the record, DH did say it felt a little different than it used to, but part of that was because we were using a condom (I was on the pill before TTC so we never used to).  But he still seemed to enjoy himself, and I've heard that in time things will get a little more normal down there.

Sorry if this is a total over-share.  It's just something that I was always worried about, so I thought I'd share my experience for anyone who hasn't done the deed yet.  Good luck ladies!

  • I am jealous. H and I did the deed. He had a great time but it was not pleasant at all on my end. Hope it gets better.

I had a vaginal delivery with a 2nd-degree tear, so I was surprised it didn't hurt more.  And I know what you mean about being in the mood...my sex drive tanked during pregnancy, so I'm glad to see it's back now.

  • I'm jealous! I go for my 6-week PP check up on the 20th and I can't wait! I am ready to get it on...or at least try. I am a bit nervous and I am still a little sore down there but these hormones have me wanting it some kind of bad!

Okay, this might be dumb, but why is it painful if you had a csection? I thought the pain was from giving birth vaginally and tearing/getting cut/stretching, etc.

To OP: It felt better than ever after my 2nd daughter, hoping its the same this time too!

  • My hospital discharge paperwork said 4-6 weeks and I am dying! I can't wait for this week to be over so we can be together again!!

Out of curiosity because I had a c/s too, any specific positions work best?  I'm feeling pretty good around my incision but I'm scared that when we are cleared I will hurt worse.  Obviously girl on bottom would hurt a lot but if you found anything else especially painful please pass it along so I know better what to avoid :) thnx

The pain comes from the giant incision across my belly and lack of ab muscle control for me.  That and I dilated to 10 and pushed for over an hour so I'm concerned that things will be sore up there, they were for a few days pp.

  • So jealous.

I go on the 11th to get my Implanon and my Dr says to wait 4-6 weeks so hopefully after 4 I will be fine. I am so ready. Although, I have no idea how we will be able to do it. We bed share and DH won't leave the baby alone.

  • Actually we did girl on bottom first. When I'm on top it feels like it goes in deeper so I just told DH to be super careful and go really slow. I wasn't worried about my incision at all. That only hurt the first week. My ob had said we could try at 4 weeks but to take it easy because the uterus might still be tender and DH "banging up against it" might hurt. We've also done me on top and again no pain. Ive had a pretty easy recover though so it might be different for others.
  • I can't wait! I'm 4 weeks pp and still don't feel completely healed, plus I have crazy anal fissure pain

  • I have my 6 week pp appointment next week and will find out then if I get the green light or night. I am a little nervous about it hurting but just like you ladies I am READY!!! I was told at 31 weeks to stop having sex then told at 38 to try it to see if it progressed labor. When we did at 38 week it was so uncomfortable that I didn't get any pleasure from it. So in total we have been intimate once in almost 3 months which is not acceptable! LOL
