I got the membrane sweep today. It really hurt, as expected, but it didn't last long, so it was bearable. I'm 2cm and 50% effaced so at least there is some progress.
Here's to hoping this baby comes soon! I'm so anxious!

Hey Ash! Omg I KNOW - I can't believe the single digits, wooohoo!
The sweep - well I've had carpal tunnel for about 3 almost 4 weeks now. It's horrible, like really bad. My dr said last week at my appt that this week she'd "sweep my membranes" to hopefully get things moving along. I guess it's to help labor along? I expressed that I really didn't want to go overdue bc of the pain of my carpal tunnel, and I was asking about inductions (bc I didn't know hospital/OB policy on it and was just curious). I think she felt like as long as I was progressing somewhat, that a sweep would be helpful in moving that along. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure why it's done for some and not everybody.
She did say that she generally will only do it at 39+ weeks, but that at 38w5d, I was close enough that she was ok with it.

Hey ladies! Thought I'd jump and say hello. I lurk but never post here. It's nice to see familiar faces here!
Good luck to all of you
Fville - I have had awful carpal tunnel the past 2-3 weeks and it sucks. On a good day, I have feeling in my hand but haven't felt my fingers in what feels like forever. Typing hurts and my handwriting has suffered horrible. I had waffles for breakfast and didn't even had enough strength to cut them
Pretty good! Just slow, tired, sore, out of breath, swollen, etc. (like the rest of the January board!) Feeling some BH and some cramping, so we'll see.
Main things to do this weekend: pack bags, install car seat base.
I'm hoping for one more week at work. After the 15th, he can come anytime!
Why haven't you ladies been posting round these parts more often!?! It would've been nice to have more MM'ers around here!
We're so close you guys!
Punkin - yes, the CP is fuckingabsurd. I hate it. It keeps me up at night, I feel numb, tingly, painful. It's so so painful.
Good luck to all you ladies and PLEASE check in as things progress! I go to MM but there are so many unfamiliar faces and zzzzzz topics that I tend to get bored and not reply there for the most part.
And, I've got baby on the brain so I stay my happyass over here on the bump lol.

Re: Got membranes stripped today, and progress made!
Tell me more about the membrane sweep. (not the actual process, just why it's done.) My doctor hasn't mentioned anything about it yet...
Hope this speeds things up for you!
Also, can you believe we're down to single digits in our countdown!

Wooohooo for sure! I can't believe it's gone by this fast, this fall January seemed like an eternity.
I had a feeling it was to try to speed things up. I hope it works for you, the carpal tunnel sounds horrible!
Are you guys all ready? We're as ready as we can be, now we're just waiting & thought that we could potentially have him at any day is so surreal.
I recognize you! How are you feeling?
