"Blake began fertility treatment in 2005 and, according to the report,
she was implanted with five embryos. Following the treatment, her son
Reuben was born on December 9th, 2006.
Rueben's sister, Floren, was conceived from the same group of
embryos, but hers was frozen for five years before being implanted into
her mother"
Um, maybe I'm missing something here, but doesn't this make them just siblings? Multiple embryos =/= twins.

Yeaaahhhh... I think they either got to share an egg or cohabit a uterus.

Good point....
I don't get it either... I'm not sure how that stuff works though... Maybe since if 2 of the embryos had worked they would have been twins but since they froze the rest and she got pg from those later they are twins? It hurts my head just thinking about it lol

This is what I was thinking...

We sometimes joke about this since they were created at the same time (and look quite a bit alike), but they have to share a uterus to be considered twins, I believe.

It was hard to read that article while rolling my eyes the whole time... they just wanted to feel extra special and get some publicity/a good article I guess. They would have been twins had they both implanted and been born together, but not now, they're just siblings.

They could be twins if say, one egg was fertilized and it split into two. They transferred one to mom and the other they froze and then transferred 5 years later. Maybe then.

Stupidity about infertility treatments drive me crazy.
they came from embryos created during IVF, they are not twins just siblings.
Also it's transferred not implanted. Embryos are transferred into the uterus.
Implantation occurs when the embryo settles into the lining. If doctors could actually implant embryos IVF would be much more successful.
Guess my kids are twins, too! Oy.

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read.
I'm pretty sure if we do IVF again and get pregnant, our twins won't suddenly become triplets.
meh.

For now they are just siblings.
