I work in an infant room at an early ed center, and my coteacher and I are pretty close with one of our moms who has 11 month old twins and a 3 year old. My coworker has a 16 year old.
We were talking today about our labors and deliverys, and I mentioned how I was going for a VBAC with DS. My coworker interrupted and said, "What's that?" So I just answered, "vaginal birth after ceaserean," and continued with my story. She interrupted again, and said, "So how does that work? They cut you open and reach up and pull the baby through? I don't understand why you would want that!"
She thought that vaginal part happened immediately after the ceaserean part. It's a good thing I'm mostly emotionally healed from the unsuccessful VBAC, or I don't think I would have laughed as hard as I did!

Re: Funny VBAC misunderstanding
OMG that's hysterical.
This reminds me of how I thought babies got here....I thought that the baby grabbed the penis and got pulled out. The only difference is that I was 5 or 6.
My blog
funny!!!
I could actually see where someone might think that based on the description too.
