DS weaned at 8.5 months. I have lost weight since then without trying, about ten pounds. I didn't lose anything from nursing, actually gained a couple of pounds. Maybe I will lose more over time but I would like to get back into my old clothes!

Isn't it interesting how everyone's experiences with nursing and weight loss are different? Some people lose weight like crazy, while others gain. I lost all of it in 6 months but started to regain over the holiday season, so now I'm doing WW to lose 10 lbs. But since I'm nursing, I have no idea what will happen once I wean.
In the past, WW has really worked for me as long as I'm committed to it. If I allow myself to cheat, I fall off the wagon completely.
I got super skinny when DS was around a year and still nursing a lot. Then after he weaned I eventually gained 15 lbs because I had kept up eating as though I were still nursing. After several months, my appetite started to decrease so I wasn't eating as much anymore, and I lost most of that but I'm still about 5 lbs up... probably because I am home more and still eating a little more, exercising a little less. Sorry I don't have any better advice!
I was so sick that I didn't gain a whole lot and then I started climbing as soon as I was cleared to, which is my go-to when I'm feeling blah about my body.
When Iman couldn't lose her baby weight, Bowie set her up with his boxing pro and the weight melted off. That could be fun :-)

Well, boxing might also be a good outlet for frustrations. Maybe patience and some common sense stuff that I haven't been good with lately (eating breakfast, drinking enough water, eating plenty of veggies) will help. Also, DH is getting us a rowing machine tonight so I can keep up/increase my activity level now that cold weather has really set in here (we have a high of 20 degrees today!)
ditto ww. I stopped nursing and couldn't stop stuffing my face like I was still nursing. I learned how many points i should be around, and what foods to eat. I think its really helped maintain, and loose a few lbs as well.
Little tricks that i live by. avoid all the wasted calorie drinks, i stick to water. i do have a cup of coffee in the morning, i add truvia sweetener. I try my best to not drink alcohol during the week, and limit it to once during the weekend. Its amazing and sad how many calories booze is!! I really limit my bread intake. And eating after 8pm.
We're on a waiting list for a mom and baby yoga class. It's the only one in our area (another reason Connecticut sucks). I just practice at home for now and use a Dailey Method dvd as well. Not as often as I should. NorCal, you sound like you are far more disciplined than I. I need to get my act together!
I'm on my phone so I can't link you, but yoga today has a ten minute yoga with kids video on their YouTube site. Baz loves it. It's not going to do a lot weight-loss-wise and it'll get you moving and get the two of you accustomed to doing yoga together.

I find that if I put washed fruit out in a bowl in the house then I am more likely to reach for a pear than crackers or chips.
I try to keep all the really bad tempting stuff out of the house, not bake much or anything. If it's there, I'll eat it.
At your baby's age, I could still put DD in the stroller or Ergo for a walk, that helped me a lot since I live on a hill. I would walk all the way up and then come back down pushing my heavy Peg perego stroller. People thought I was nuts but it was good for weight loss. I would bring some musical toy that we could play over and over, the little seahorse thing or the maracas that say the colors over and over, LOL. It was very helpful. We would sing songs together all the way home (down the hill of course),.
Now that she is older it is harder. There is a babysitting service at my gym so I do that once a week, and I go at night sometimes (maybe once a week) and I try to do yoga or go to the gym on the weekend so maybe three times max. I also gained about 5lb over the holiday and am trying to lose it (MIL makes tons of Christmas cookies, fresh bread, cinnamon muffins, OMG).
.As for eating, I just bought a lot of salad stuff and left a yummy salad dressing at work and one at home, so I could make more salads.

Good suggestion, but I think I'd rather have Gwyneth's yoga trainer.

I also love yoga and try and hit the gym.

For me, it's all about food.
So, I started tracking everything by MyPlate on Livestrong.com
AMAZING!! I dropped all the baby weight and then some in 3 months (gained 65 lbs with DS2).
