Can we have a post dedicated to venting about co-workers/work?

Please, feel free to add in.

I work with idiots. I have one who has been in her job for over a year, and just asked me today how to look up contacts on the computer. Um... It's on the software that we use daily. She says she forgot. She also asked me this morning what a caucus was and what the big deal was. Um... We live in Iowa. I asked her if she knew that we're the first state to vote in the election. She had no clue it was an election year. She also doesn't understand why I wouldn't help her yesterday download Skype on her computer so she could keep her 15 year old daughter company why she's on winter break. Seriously?!
Then today I was asked to come upstairs because some people wanted to look at my stomach. I'm constantly getting eye-harrassed at work. I told someone last week that they are creepy and need to stop checking me out. Then she proceded to tell me that I should be grateful that I have a bump because some pregnant women can't get them, whatever that means.

Okay. I feel better. :) Anyone else have work vents? PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one. :)

Re: Can we have a post dedicated to venting about co-workers/work?

  • Since I've become pregnant, I have realized that 90% of the people I work with are morons. Just this morning, one of the young guys in our office was needing to switch cubes and wasn't sure if he could keep his phone number from his old cube. An older gentleman in the office told him that he could, but he would need to have the phone number transferred (which is true). The younger guy asked and I quote "How do I do that? Do I just take the telephone from my old desk and switch it with the phone at my new desk?" Confused

  • I could go on for days about this....

Out of the 5 women in my office, 2 do absolutely no work at all. One especially spends all day talking about how much money she has and how she doesn't really need to work. The rest of the time she is chit chatting with co-workers or on the phone telling her 17 and 12 year old sons how to dress themselves and make themselves lunches (not exaggerating). She also takes more time off than anyone else in our office and is the newest person there (and lies on her time sheet, which the bosses approve...). And yet corporate office loves to email her telling her what a great job she is doing. We are in sales and her numbers are not even justifying her salary this year. Not to mention she feels the need to tell me every single day how big my baby bump is getting (it's one thing if you only see me once a month, but EVERY SINGLE DAY).

I could go on and on but that is my work rant!

  • How do this people make it through the hiring process!?!? If we can still carry out our jobs while dealing with pregnancy (even with pregnancy brain moments), they have no excuse!

I'm just really happy to have a place to vent where everyone can relate. :)

Thank you for posting this!!! Work and everyone in the building has been driving me crazy lately. I thought it was the hormones but I want to strangle everyone. Especially with the eye harassing. Yes, I'm pregnant and yes, I'm starting to get a bump. I don't need a damn daily poll or announcement of how big it is. Also, when talking to me, my eyes are "up here" not down there. Stop talking to my stomach you freako's. My favorite quote when analyzing the bump today from one particularly annoying woman... "WOW, turn around so I can see. WHOA! And in just one week." Beoch. Thanks for making me feel like a whale. Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful to be pregnant and am loving my bump but I don't need to whole world commenting on it.

  • I love this thread and all your stories are hilarious!!  I don't have any to share for myself today, but I have one to share from another female co-worker.  A guy in our office told her "You look really good in the face."  What the hell does that mean?  She looks terrible in the body?!?!
