Painful BMs and bleeding postpartum, why now?

I'm now 5 weeks postpartum and 4 days ago I started having extremely painful BMs. 2 days ago it came with bleeding so I called the doctor and have an appointment but I'm totally baffled why this is happening now. I went my entire pregnancy and labor (and life) without getting hemorrhoids and constipation. I've been regular and don't feel constipated and it doesn't seem like hemorrhoids but it could be internal once. I did have a 1st degree tear from labor, read it could add to things. I've never dealt with this, but it feels like a mini labor every morning, I hope I can get some relief or know what's wrong tomorrow. : (
