I posted yesterday that DH got called into work yesterday so I had to cancel my massage (side note: one of his employees quit last night via text at midnight!! So who knows when he will have another day off) well an awesome friend offered to watch Logan while I went for the massage. This is the first thing I have done for myself since having LO so I was really excited. So I left work early to get him to her in time and went to my appointment and it was horrible! First off the massage itself sucked, it was so light and did nothing for my back pain and she never stopped talking so I could ask her to focus on an area or use more pressure, and second it was just an hour long sales pitch with some rubbing mixed in. She talked the entire time about all the services they offered and used her depressing life as examples like "after my divorce I went to a lot of therapy until I took our course in stress management..." "I used to be fat and eat terribly because of all my stress blah blah blah until I did our 21 day cleanse..." I actually left more stressed then I went! The problem is I got a 3 pack groupon so I still have 2 more to use. What would you do? Call and ask for a refund for the unused portion, ask for someone else and risk a similar experience, complain to manager?

Re: F/U to my post yesterday- WWYD?
Contact Groupon and let them know of your horrible experience. They've been great with refunding me on things like that.
Good luck!
Honestly i would have told her to cut it out while i was there (i've done it before with a chatty masseuse). Anyway i would defiantly ask to speak to the manager when your booking your next one, explain what you didnt like and ask for someone new this time. I think if you approach it nicely you?ll get the experience you want next time. Also mention the light message. If the manager is a pain (saying thats just the way they are) i'd contact groupon

I would probably call the place and tell them about your experience and then ask for someone different or get your money back.
Whatever you decide to do - I would call the place regardless so that way they can fix that issue! How annoying!
You know this sort of sounds like my prenatal massage. My DH got it for me for Valentines day and I was so excited. With my herniated disc and all while pregnant I was miserable so I went in and it was horrible.
She massaged lightly, kept trying to put me in these positions that I explained was uncomfortable, when I would move so I could be comfortable she insisted I move back and would not even try to do it in the position I was in. I actually thought I was in a better position for her. She would not stop talking. Then to top it off I got out in the lobby where it was peaceful beforehand and another employee was argueing with a man about a refund because he did not like his service. THey were yelling and everything, I told the lady at the front desk so much for being relaxed and left.
If I was you I would contact groupon see if thye can do a partial refund, if not I would call and request someone else. If you have the same problem the second time, complain and hope they do you better the 3rd time, but I would not let them go to waste.
was this by any chance massage envy?
i would call and complain.
It is funny you say that because that is where I went where my story above happened, lol. If it is that must say something about them.
massage envy is the WORST! the one i went to had bed bugs
i would def call and just explain what happened and that you would like a different person next time or you would like a refund.
I've heard horrible things about Massage Envy!
Anyway, I would recommend calling and explaining the experience and making sure to request someone else when you book your next 2. Hopefully the massage place will comp your 1st appt since it was a crappy experience, the exact opposite of what it should have been.
Yep. Horrible! Just awful!!! I refuse to ever go to another one again.
I would call the chiropractor first. Tell them about your experience. If they don't make it right, then I would call Groupon.
Glad they refunded, but I would also call the place you went -- they should know if someone is giving crappy massages and sales pitches!
