Will have a repeat c/s in May..couple questions

Hi!

 I will have a repeat c/s in May and am wondering at what point were you able to schedule your repeat c during pregnancy. Do we not pick a date until the end or is it something done in late 2nd tri / early 3rd?

Also, I have an anterior placenta this time (just found out at peri's office for anatomy scan so haven't seen my OB since) but will that affect anything this time around?

    I scheduled mine with DS2 after my 24wks appt. The scheduler from my ob's office called me and told me to pick a date the week I was 39wks along.

     I had an anterior placenta with ds1 and by 24 weeks it had moved to the top and never blocked anything. It didn't effect my c/s at all.

    We picked the date at my 16 week appointment (exactly 1 week prior to my due date). About 2 weeks later, the hospital called to confirm.

    We scheduled mine after my 20 week sonogram.  They wanted to confirm the date was accurate since it was the only sono I'd had before scheduling.

    My ob's office called me up after 20 wks and scheduled it for exactly one week earlier and was pretty much told the day and time and not given a chose. But he ended up coming early.

    Op- I was told to schedule at 32 weeks an I also have an anterior placenta. It will not effect your section.

    Whoa, you were 32 weeks when you scheduled (for a later date) or you were scheduled at 32 weeks?

    I had an anterior placenta with Aidan and that didn't affect my c/s.

    My OB doesn't schedule them until the end, but I got to schedule mine at 19w. Lucas' birthday has a special meaning to me with a connection to Aidan.

    I will schedule when I am 32 weeks, I'll probably schedule to have the section the middle of week 39 LOL.

    We were able to schedule at anytime for the c/s as long as we picked a day at 39weeks or later. We did it in August I think.

    I had an anterior placenta this time as well. My OB said as long as there wasn't any previa noted, there wouldn't be an issue. If there is any evidence of previa, there is concern that that placenta could attach to where the prior incision was. Mine was high enough that it was fine.

    My Dr. asked me to pick a date as soon as possible to make sure we got on the schedule at the hospital.  We picked May 23rd.  So if all goes well and LO does not decide to come early that will be our date exactly 39 weeks.
