I hope you've enjoyed the holidays. I just wanted to give you a little follow-up to something I posted a very long time ago.

You ladies gave me some advice to help guide a struggling high school student. One of the things recommended was the It Gets Better Project. James embraced the videos and launched a support group for his peers here at our school. He came out and found himself to be insanely popular and adored by all of his peers. Not that he wasn't before, but now that he could be himself, his last two years of high school were a blast for him. I was fortunate enough to have him in class again his senior year and watch him blossom. He is a singer and performer and took the lead in school musicals and won awards with the choir. I cannot post any pics from school but, here is a link to his fundraiser for a recording project he's doing!!! I'm not in any way asking for money. This is just the only public thing I have that I can share with you so you can see his progress. "James Lamar" is a stage name. If you click on the video, the first minute is about him. The song in the background is his!!! He "wrote" it (with help from the producer) and that's him singing. He has an mp3 that he emailed me called "I'ma Be Great" which is about his struggles and his optimistic outlook. If anyone knows how I can upload a link to an mp3, I'd be happy to let you ladies hear it. I asked him for permission and he said (and I quote)"OMG, Mrs. X, of course you can! Actually, puh-LEEZ share it. I want to get out there" so...LOL...I'd be happy to share! I am just bursting with pride. Big Smile

Anyway, I just wanted you ladies to know that James is doing great. I know that you'll be happy to hear that! And, watch out for him. He may be the next Justin Bieber...cringe....or, whoever is a big pop/R&B star. I'm an old punk rocker so I have no idea. LOL
