I officially have a toddler!

DD has been transitioning from the infant room to the toddler room in daycare over the last few weeks. She is now full time in the toddler room and she LOVES it (they had to transition her a bit quicker than anticipated b/c she didn't want to go back to infants after she visited the toddlers).

So this change has actually already changed the way she is acting at home! She wants to do everything herself - tries to put on her clothes, get stuff out of the fridge, etc. And with that comes the temper tantrums and testing the limits. She had so many time outs last weekend b/c she either had a temper tantrum b/c of something that we said no to - or because she refused to listen. She is so smart and already trying to bend the rules!!! Her mom and dad are in big trouble!!! And soon she will have a partner in crime ;)

  • oooh have fun with that one!  ;-)  At least there is a lot of good that comes with all of those tantrums and testing, too.

I think the hardest part is to keep a straight face most of the time! She just cracks me up sometimes and those are the moments when I definitely should keep a stern face.

I hear ya!  You have to be kind of proud of them asserting their independence and you have to giggle when they're trying so hard.  But, OMG, sometimes you just have to get stuff done and the tantrums get annoying fast.  My DD is the same way (still at 4, hate to say).  Love her and she can be so fun and funny, but whoa some days she's a little much to handle.
