car seat doesn't recline enough??

I remember with the  boys, the carseats always reclined enough that they were able to sleep comfortably. It seems now that car seats sit almost straight up. L's head seems to fall forward while in the car. She doesn't seem bothered but I don't like it. Anyone else have this issue? I'm sure it'll be great when she can really control her head, but for now, it just seems to like she's sitting up too high.

  • I thought the same thing.  We are using a "snuzzler" which goes in the carseat and supports the head so much better.  He looks a lot more comfortable now.  I've read that using anything in the carseat voids the warranty of the seat but the product says it was crash tested and so I feel comfortable using it.

  • We definitely don't have that problem with our Chicco.  Trey pretty much falls asleep within minutes of getting in it, and can sleep in there for hours if I let him.  His head doesn't fall forward at all.  Maybe have someone look at it to make sure the car seat is sitting correctly?

  • Weird. We used to have a Graco Snug Ride and now a Chicco Key Fit. I wonder if the Baby Trend has a different recline angle.

I'm pretty sure it is the recline angle. I think I'm going to have to move her out of the middle. THe seat is locked in right, but even when I took it to the fire department, they said it should be placed next to the door. I have a small hump in the middle seat of my car so maybe that's why.

  • We also have the Baby Trend seat. My DD was doing the same thing, her head falling forward. So I got out the book for it and it says if it doesnt recline enough you can put a rolled up towel or a piece of a pool noodle under the base to make it recline more. If you have it too far reclined when you do that red will show up in the two circles on the side, so you will have to do it a little less. Hope Im making sense. I bought a pool noodle, cut off a piece the length of our base and put it under the front of it. Worked perfect!

I have the same seat and also a hump in the center of my car.  We were able to get it level and he sleeps fine in it, so we just thought that just the way it was designed.  Do you have the jogging stroller that it snaps into?  I noticed that it sits up even higher in it, or so it seems.

I have a regular stroller, not a jogger, but yes,it is the baby trend matching one. And yes, it is extremely high as well, but at  least I am looking at her and can adjust her, but in the carseat I can't see her. Today DS 1 is the one that told me how her head was falling. I'll let you know how it goes when I move her to the side seat.

  • Ours does this too. I just sit in the back seat and hold her head up. I don't know what else to do. It is definitely installed correctly too.

    we have this one.
