Recipes

Has anyone tried anything yummy lately?  It's so freaking cold so I was all about warm, comfort food last night and gave this Crockpot Chicken and Biscuits a try last night and it was so good!

For the HLG girls, it would have been yummy w/o the biscuits and you could add in veggies to make it more stew like.  I'm sure the sodium is up there with the cream of chicken soup though.

Re: Recipes

  • Yum!  I saw your post on FB last night and they look delicious!

I posted this oatmeal recipe yesterday but here it is again.

It's alright for oatmeal, I guess.  Super easy to make and a double batch of it should last DH & I all week for breakfast which is a plus.

We plan on making Coconut Chicken salad and Chicken Enchilada Soup sometime, too.  They both look promising.

Does anyone have a good meatball recipe they could share?  We've never made them and have a bunch of ground beef and venison in the freezer so we thought we'd try to make some.

DH has one he makes, I can type it up for you later if you'd like. It has about a million ingredients I think, but most of them are seasonings and spices, which aren't that big of a deal.

I make a pretty good sweet n sour meatball recipe if you are interested. I took basis for the base of the sauce from a published recipe and adapted it to my liking. The meatballs i just eyeballed seasonings etc. My secret for getting them to stay moist is after the meat is mixed together with the breadcrumbs, egg, etc. i grate a small onion in at the end for moisture.  Oh, and I bake them in the sauce

  • Share away ladies, I appreciate it!

  • I'm all about soup these days since it is bloody FREEZING out and I found a recipe in my new Cooking Light magazine for Moroccan Chicken and Butternut Squash soup. It sounds delish so I'm going to make it for lunch today. If it's good I'll see if I can post a link to the recipe.

Also, will someone pls tell me what HLG stands for? I looked it up on the board glossaries but didn't find it anywhere and I am apparently not smart enough to figure it out.

It stands for Healthy Living Girls, and it is specific to this board.
