Re: ~*Weekly PG Check-in*~
Congrats Sarabear!!!
QOTW: Honestly? Champagne. I've been DYING for some since Christmas. But it will probably be something a little more practical since I likely won't have eaten for awhile. We'll see what sounds good by then.
Updates: I had my 36 week appointment yesterday and I'm already dilated 3 cm and measuring 37 weeks!
I think this little guy will definitely be a January baby, not a February baby. For the most part I'm feeling good...just a bit of hip pain at night and from time to time it feels like my crotch is splitting in two. My doctor was very reassuring yesterday when she said, "that's exactly what's happening!" I guess it's all a part of the process, but I don't remember feeling it with Luke!
We are doing well! Babies are about a lb and a half, which is around the 50th percentile, which I'm REALLY excited about (and they grew a TON from two weeks ago) and my cervix is also really long (which at this point in gestation means it's pretty likely I won't go into early labor for that reason). Also had a low-lying placenta but that seems to have corrected itself. My heartburn is finally under control too, which is a big relief. I do look ridiculous for someone only six months pregnant, but oh well!
Emotionally, I spent a lot of the first part of my pregnancy worried and I'm finally starting to relax some and get excited. I also found our nursery inspiration! (https://projectnursery.com/2010/06/hawkens-nursery-by-anyon-a-k-a-mom/)
We also now have a place to live (we've been staying in an addition of my parents house since moving to Boston) and although we won't move in until March 1st, it's really nice to at least have that taken care of. The house is beautiful, built in the 1800's but has zero closet space. What I'm going to do with everything will be a giant challenge!
Hope all you ladies are doing well!

QOTW: A glass of pinot noir. I cannot wait.
Updates: Had an appt last week and I *somehow* lost 3 lbs over the holidays. Not sure how that happened. My doctor actually congratulated me on my weight gain -- so far I'm up only 16 lbs so I should be way under the 25 lb mark which is GREAT because I was overweight to begin with. If I can weigh less than I did when I delivered L, it will be easier to get the weight off.
Other than that, I'm feeling pretty good. I've pretty much gotten the baby's nursery done although my mom is painting a picture for her nursery; which I'm excited about.

I guess the only thing I want is an occasional glass of wine. I'm a non-drinker during pregnancy and I was sniffing my husband's wine during Christmas.
I'm feeling SO much better than I was before Christmas!! Not throwing up anymore and very little nausea. I did have a horrible bout of food poisoning or a GI bug starting about 2 am on 1/1 and I literally thought I was going to die. I'm recovering my strength from that and unpacking from our holiday travels.
We found out what we're having a few days before Christmas, on my husband's birthday. I'll post the video soon. It was all very dramatic and we're really excited.
Not gonna lie...feeling a little jealous.
Congrats Sarebear!
QOTW: I told DH he better have a nice bottle of champagne chilling for me at home when we get there after the birth.
Updates: I gained way too much weight over the holidays (big surprise) but I think a lot of it is water retention. My feet are so swollen every day that I only have one pair of shoes that I can wear and they just look disgusting and are uncomfortable. I've been walking more in the evenings so hopefully that'll help me swelling and weight gain.
My next appt is next week and I have the Group B Strep test. Other than that, I don't think my place does any internal exams. (If I understand correctly.) I'm glad that I won't have to be uncomfortable each week but I feel like I'd like to know if I'm progressing.
We finished our nursery and installed the carseat. The only thing I need to do now is find a pedi.
QOTD: I won't be wanting it immediately following delivery, but I will be excited to have an avocado margarita from Curra's. Those are the bomb and I'm kinda glad I had one 10 dpo when I was still testing negative on the preg tests. It should hold me over since the last one I had before that was at least 6 months. I'm not a big drinker.
Update: We had the first u/s last week and they saw a tiny heartbeat! We have another next monday and hope to hear it then. I'm starting to get a little bit of queasiness now (yay morning sickness!) but it's not too bad. I'm just feeling guilty because I gave up sodas last spring, and now I really want to sip on Sprite or ginger ale. I just don't know anything that's similar and better. I guess I need to check out Whole Foods to see what natural alternatives they have.
ETA: I have a due date! 8/20/11 as of the u/s (8/21/11 as of my LMP)
Hi, could you please add me? EDD 8-16-12
Update: Still feeling queasy pretty much all day, but not actually throwing up any. Had our first official prenatal visit yesterday. Saw the baby, got a good heartbeat of 155, and everything looks great! Very exciting.
QOTW: Unfortunately, nothing at all sounds good to me right now except for applesauce and pasta with no sauce. So I will wait to answer that question until I'm feeling better.

My (mostly) business travel blog
QOTW: I really want sushi. I haven't been the best pg women this time around, having a small soda here and there, and a chai latte once or twice a week, but I've managed to stay away from the sushi.
Update: We found out the week before Christmas that we are having a boy this time around! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I don't know how to be a boy mom, but we'll figure it our. DH wants to name our son Duaine (Duh Wayne) after his grandfather and my constant feedback is it makes a nice middle name. We can not have a solid adult conversation about names without bickering.
QOTW: Amaretto sour & a big, fat rare steak. YUM!
Updates: Nothing really. I have my 16wk check next Monday. Due to a coworker being off of work and not being about to take off as well, we don't have our anatomy scan until the end of the month at 20weeks. I'm READY TO KNOW! ah, that is all.
10/24/2011 - Surprise BFP; EDD 6/21/12! BOY!
Sweet baby boy born 6/14 9lb 2oz via csection.
QOTW: runny eggs! and senor almondero tequila with ruby red grapefruit juice!
Update: so, I'm still trying for a vbac. The Dr said usually "they" delivery gd babies at 39 weeks, but he already told me I could go to 41 as long as things are looking ok. My Dr's office does weekly US and i guess it's non stress test monitoring for the last month or so, so that'll start up soonish and I feel like we'll get a good picture of the placenta and if the baby is doing well.
I'm getting pains I never had with H, so I'm going with that's a good sign I might get to vbac, but I'm fully prepared to have a repeat c-section.
I need to get out and do our cute idea for gender reveal so I can start talking names, we're having a hard time this time around :
QOTW: first I feel bad cause I've already had a lot of stuff people want. I had champagne at new years and sips of DH's beer or wine here and there. I've also had sushi. But what I really want is a great Riesling all to myself. Or Tuna Sushi and Saki. Ichihara here I come!
Update: almost 28 weeks. I'm tired. Blood test for anemia is Monday as is my GD test. My joints are starting to hurt too which is weird. I was told its normal though. Nursery is done. DH bought me an awesome black leather coach diaper bag from the outlets. I love it. DH has been so amazing. He runs my belly and tells me how beautiful I am and how much he loves me all the time. He's going to be a great Dad.
meh, don't feel bad. I had a few sips of bubbly at NYE, I have had some raw sushi too. I don't do beer/wine, but I did have a sip or two of a rita
QOTW: Last time I said a margarita.
This time I'd like a Coke and something other than a ham sandwich (the cafeteria was closed when I had V, so sandwich it was).
Updates: Well, my nausea went away right in time for Christmas cookies and Mexican food.
Although, I still feel sick after eating certain foods. I'm still really tired. I hope that 2nd trimester energy burst kicks in soon! I have a tiny bump but nothing really picture-worthy.
I'm a little late to the party today. . .
QOTW: I don't really want it now, but after delivery, I'm guessing I'm going to want a nice bottle of Malbec. . . And sushi. Both, in the same meal. I've had cooked sushi rolls while PG, but I really want a lot, and raw
.
Updates: I finally gained my first lb. . . hopefully it goes slow and steady now. My m/s is gone, and I'm finally starting to get a little of an appetite. However, I keep getting sick! Over Christmas, I got sick for the 5th time while PG!! And now, apparently all of austin, including me, have allergies. I finally had to go get a shot for it today b/c it was really bad, and turned into a sinus infection. Boo - winter was supposed to be my 1 season without allergies!!
And lastly, we finally started working a little bit on the nursery. DH hates to paint, so I figured we needed to do that ASAP if I was going to help at all.
I honestly don't know what I want first to eat or drink. Maybe a Magic Hat #9 (beer) or a margarita. There isn't really any foods I've been avoiding.
This pregnancy started off very similar to last time, but lately, it's been totally different. My inner thigh muscles are killing me. It's hard to sleep. I have hip pain in certain positions. I am also having some killer bh lately. Next week I have to have an u/s--apparently my placenta might be covering my cervix a little--no one told me at my 20-week u/s. The midwife asked me yesterday about it--it was news to me. They want to see how it's doing. I did tell her that last time, the umbilical cord was not centered...or so my OB commented this while she was stitching me up.
Hopefully, all will be well. I really, really want my vbac and I really, really want to go into labor on my own, etc. Oh yeah, I also decided to do the hypnobabies and started that this week.
