Another Mail Question

A couple of weeks ago I asked about mail hold ups in Afghanistan. Thanks to all of you who replied. I really appreciate it. As of this past Sunday, DH still had not received one of his packages. I tracked the parcel and it has been delivered; however, he still has not received  it at his camp. I know that mail is delivered to some central area for them, delivered somewhere else, and then picked up by his team. I'm thinking the box is just sitting somewhere. I pretty bummed that he hasn't gotten it yet as I put a lot of time and effort into his anniversary gift. It was a scrapbook of our story. It's pretty irreplaceable, and I just don't know what to do. Anyone ever been in a similiar situation? Is there anything that can be done?

    As long as it's not lost, it'll eventually get to him.

    Have him ask other guys on his team if they are missing any packages...

    Everything has been super slow because of the holidays and maybe packages haven't made it out to his exact team yet.

    My H is still waiting for his Christmas gift from me. I had it sent straight to him from the company. In another day they company will make and resend it for me.

    Just curious, when you filled out the customs form did you check the box to have it abandoned if it was deemed undeliverable? I always check the return to sender so it would be returned to me at home. I usually have stuff in there that is more expensive than paying the shipping twice.

    I was also thinking that he'd eventually get it as well. He has gotten other things that I've sent since then, but not this one that was sent at least a week before the others. I will  ask him to ask around a little though. I'm hoping that at some point, regardless of how long it takes, it'll just pop up.

    And, I always request that the package be returned to sender.

    Thanks ladies, I'm hopefully it'll get to him soon.

    One of the packages I sent to DH ended up arriving nearly 2 months later. It arrived though and was in perfect condition. Give it time and hopefully it will show up.

    I'm a mail clerk over here and from what I heard, the mail can only be tracked as far as New York...because to new york is usps or whatever and then from new york to AFG its the Army.

    Hopefully he gets it soon.  But from what I've been seeing, the civillian mail people work 12 hours a day and its STILL not enough time to get the mail sorted.

    One last thing...depending on where he's at...they may not be getting mail birds. its snowing in some places out here!! ugh it sucks! but it is what it is.

     I really hope it gets there. I'm sure he is gonna LOVE the scrapbook. it'll give him things to look at to make him smile when he's lonely!

    If you knew better, you'd do better.
