Ear-Piercing Scream....

Addie just started screaming. Sometimes she does it and then smiles, other times she is clearly upset. The last two days the novelty of her new trick is in full effect, and she screams ALL the time!

Did your LOs go through this? I have tried ignoring her (when she seems to just be doing it for fun), or holding my ears and telling her that it hurt (which, she really seems clueless about). DH's approach to to make a loud sound where she is so shocked she stops.

Suggestions? I miss my sweet, little, non-screaming girl!

Re: Ear-Piercing Scream....

  • Oh no! We went through this with my niece in a dramatic way. She just loved to screech. She is now 10 an has not screeched in a very long time. I want to say it ws a phase that lasted a few months. Nothing at the time that I noticed my brother and SIL do seemed to work she just got over it at some point. It ws really annoying and hard on the ears. I am sorry you are going through this.

  • Thanks! I guess she's too young to really expect to be able to do anything about it, but it helps to know that hopefully she'll grow out of it....though, now I feel like a COMPLETE jerk because she started running a fever. Maybe she was feeling crummy all along (though, that smile makes me wonder...).
