Two Under 2

Advice?

Hello ladies.. I'm a fellow bumpie and just had a question...

DH and I are thinking about trying for our 2nd in a few months.. our DS will be 1 in July. We had fertility issues with our first, and we would like our children to be close in age. If all works out we would have two under 2 and I was wondering how that feels :) Basically are we crazy? lol!

Re: Advice?

  • It is crazy, but a good crazy. I was so scared when I was alone with both boys after DH went back to work. I kept telling DH, you can't leave me alone with them, over & over the week leading up to it. But I sucked it up, told myself other moms have done this, and so can I. Now that my boys are 1 & 2, we are thinking of adding just one more soonish. It feels amazing to see and know they will grow up to be best buddies bc they are so close in age, and ds#2 learns so quick from his older brother, its amazing.

    Goodluck in whatever you decide!

  • It's really not near as hard as I envisioned it to be...and I'm solo most of the time because of DH's work. The thought of 2 under 2 was much scarier than the reality. It helps to be organized and have a schedule. So, no- I don't think you're crazy. Heck, maybe I am crazy but I don't know any different so it works for me. =)

I couldn't agree more. The anticipation was much worse than actually having 2u2. It's still hard, but not impossible. My toddler is much harder now that she was 3 months ago... I couldn't imagine having my LO right now! I love that my toddler started walking 2 weeks before my DS was born. I was as exhausted during my pregnancy as most are during their 2nd time around.
  • It's chaos but it's a fun chaos. :) They always keep me on the move and I've learned to find the fun in the challenging moments when both want/need me. You definitely have to take the highs with the lows but I wouldn't change it for anything. I love they are practically growing up as twins - almost all her memories will involve her brother.

  • Thanks ladies! I should have mentioned I'm a SAHM so I'll be alone with both most of the time.
