If you're bringing one do you plan to use it while in labor or after labor? I'm packing separate bags and trying to figure out if I need this for labor. Did you bring your purse with you? Also for labor I plan on Chapstick, hair ties, laptop for music, baby book, camera and phone... Any other suggestions? Bumping from my phone, sorry for lack of spacing
Re: Bathrobe for the hospital?
I'm bringing mine only to use in the maternity ward - not in L&D. Just to cover my bum when they get me back up & walking post section! Lol.
As for what to pack...I wasn't packed for my first and only had a few things, but used NONE of it until after I delivered (and I was in L&D for an entire day, but without pain meds so the pain was distracting and I didn't want anything going on around me...I just needed to focus on my contractions and getting through them!). I wound up in the hospital for six days - the only things I really wanted/needed were Chapstick, my camera, camera charger and toiletries for showering (and of course clothes to head home in for me and the baby).
For my first I packed two bags and then discovered that the only things I really needed (aside from my bikini) were in my after labour bag. This time it's only one bag with everything in it.
As far as a bathrobe, I don't even own one so I'm not bringing one! I wore sweats/pj pants/yoga pants while in recovery and didn't leave my room after I was admitted so I didn't need it then either! And I also wore my underwear until I started pushing.

Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012. We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
I haven't had any need for a bathrobe. After I finally showered today, I put on sweats and a nursing tank with a zip hoodie over it. I plan on wearing similar clothes until we go home on Thursday.
As far as during delivery, I brought some movies, which were great to watch while I was laboring down and in between pushes. I did make sure they were movies I knew well so I didn't have to closely watch them
Chapstick and lotion have been necessities, along with a hair tie to keep my hair back.

chapstick! OMG thank you for reminding me!
I bought a black one for cheap at Walmart. I'm not sure if I'll really end up using it, but I figure for like 15 bucks it doesn't hurt to have one if I need one.
I hope to be med-free as long as I can, so it would be nice to cover my backside while wearing the oh-so-wonderful hospital gowns if I want to walk the halls or stairs at the hospital. I think it'll be nice to have for recovery too. I plan on wearing a nursing tank and throw on the robe over top for coverage since I don't have any zippy hoodies that are anywhere close to fitting me.
