My cat scratched my baby. Just a tiny scratch, but DH said she cried for a VERY long time. He left the room for a just a moment this morning, but it was long enough for our now very mobile almost 8 month old baby to grab the cat and for the cat to hiss and scratch her on her hand.
I guess we will just have to be more cautious now. This cat seems to genuinely care for the baby and hangs out with her frequently, but I don't think that the cat was really ready for the sudden motor skill development that's been going on.
Re: I suppose it was only a matter of time
This happened to ds once. He wanted to "play" w/ the kitty and got right in her face. The kitty on the other hand didn't want to "play" w/ ds. She scratched him right above the lip and he now has a teeny tiny scar. The funny part about getting scratched? It didn't stop him from trying to "play" w/ her shortly after!
After two losses, third time was a charm.
