My sister has her nails painted 100% of the time. I almost never paint them, except for recently since I'm swollen and have man-hands. Now I wear nail polish.
She thinks it's weird that I don't usually wear nail polish. Do you paint your nails?

I *rarely* paint my finger nails. What's the point? I am hard on my hands and do a ton of dishes (as I'm sure we all do). And I like the natural look so it doesn't bother me. I painted them a deep red for Christmas and that stayed on for a week+, but that was a special occasion.
My toenails almost always have polish (typically I do it myself) except during the winter for a month or two I leave them bare so the nails can have a break and get healthy again.
I do not think it's weird to not wear polish on your fingers... it isn't a big deal to me at all.
Special occasions... maybe. I just had them painted for NY. I did it 3 days before the 31st, and it was chipped to hell by NYE. I touched them up, but now I probably won't paint them again any time soon.
My toes are almost always painted. The longest they are bare is a day or 2, and never in flip flop weather! I really hate feet and think they just look icky unpolished. I get a good pedi in the spring (usually for my Bday) and maybe 2 or 3 more throughout the summer, but I usually do them myself.
I used to do my own nails. I kept them a moderate length and painted french tips. They were done about 90% of the time until I got pregnant. The smell of the polish made me dizzy and I was OCD about using all natural products.
Now I can't stand my nails long and almost never paint them. Long nails feel dirty and uncomfortable now- it's weird. They are short, filed square and are usually bare.
And I never wear dark polish- never did. I love dark colors on other people but I almost always use a pale pink or a fun bright color in the summer (love corals with a tan!)

My toe nails are almost always painted. I only paint my fingernails for special occasions. It chips way too quickly and I can't stand it when it starts to chip.
I would LOVE to have my fingers painted all the time but I don't have the patience for how quickly they chip. Even using OPI chip skip or whatever doesn't seem to help. If anyone has any tips on making it last longer I'd love to hear them.
I have got SO much nail polish, and RARELY paint my nails. They used to chip sooo bad when I was working, so I just never wasted my time doing it.
Occasionally during the summer I'd go sit on the deck and paint my toenails and while they would dry bring out a book and soak up the sun.
Maybe now that I'm not working though I could find the time to paint both my fingernails and my toes.
(I keep getting make-up and nail polish from family for Christmas... I don't have the heart to tell them to stop... maybe they are trying to tell me something! )
I get a mani/pedi about once a month. I get shellac on my fingernails. It usually lasts about 3 weeks. It never chips, my nails just grow out. I take it off at home and then wait a week before going in all over.
I try to. I am a lifelong nail biter who has just recently reformed. Due to this I have incredibly short nail beds and I think my nails look funny if they aren't painted. Also, painting them reminds me not to nibble. (gross, I know, but true) I keep them pretty short too. I prefer mauves and taupes. Nothing crazy or too bright.
I have long, thin fingers and I prefer to wear my nails very long and filed into an oval shape. I bet this sounds really weird, but I think it looks kind of witchy and I like that. I'm kind of still a teenage goth at heart...
However, I feel like having long, filed nails is over the top with nail polish on them. It's just too intense. When I wear my nails short sometimes I will get a color on them, but it's always something really neutral, like black, grey, silver, beige, taupe. I NEVER do colors, and I especially hate pink and red (on me, not anyone else). For some reason, when I paint my nails pink or red, it reminds me of female body builders who have big man hands-they always have a super feminine manicure.
I usually leave my toes bare, no one ever sees them. I rarely wear open toed shoes. I am a cowboy boots kind of girl.
My nails are usually painted.. By that, I mean 75% of the time.
I just painted my nails last night for the first time since Thanksgiving, only because I do so much cooking within the last two months, that I feel it is pointless to paint them when they will just chip or mess up during all of the chaos.
Never. We don't have a dishwasher, so it's a chipped, fading mess way too quickly to bother. Occasionally I'll do them for a wedding or other event, but not even always then. My toe nails are usually done though.
No, I hardly ever have. Maybe for my wedding I wore clear nail polish. I just don't think it makes my nails look any better. It's too distracting to me, as well, because I'm always worrying about chips. No fun!
Toenails, however, I really like to paint.

It just chips off so fast! I usually only do it for special occasions.
This. Within 24hrs it has chipped and I start getting annoyed and 24hrs after that it is gone. But I will do them for special occasion. My toes are painted 100% of the time. It's my indulgence and makes me feel pretty even in sweats with my hair sticking up LOL

Fingers or toes?

I never paint my finger nails. I always paint my toe nails. My finger nails chip way too easily it is just not worth the hassle.
