clicky poll: Potty trained kids

Just curious now...

*ETA- sorry poorly worded. I meant are they or were they PTed at 2.5 or under.  They clearly do not need to be 2.5 right now as my question indicates. :( need more coffee

Re: clicky poll: Potty trained kids

  • C was about 27 months. She still wears diapers at night, but is dry most mornings.

  • my answer is 'No, boy' x3.

well, my youngest just turned 2 and I don't see him daytime PT'd by 2.5. my other 2 PT'd bt 3-3.5.

  • DD is totally at home potty trained (minus nights) since around 27ish months. (she's 2 1/2 now) I've been too scared to leave the house and try though. I'm sure she'd be fine, but for now she's in Pull Ups when we leave the house.

  • Neither of my kids were potty trained at 2.5.  Jakob was about 3 yrs 2 months.  Layna is 3 yrs 3 months and we're still struggling with pooping on the potty.

Oddly enough, both were nighttime trained easier than daytime.

  • Jack was PTed just before 3. I have no intention of trying to full time PT w/ Tops until he is approaching his 3rd b-day. He sits on the potty now, but not w/ any regularity and only when he requests it (currently 2.5).

  • I potty train early. My oldest son was potty trained at around 26 months but he took a while longer for nighttime. My daughter was potty trained by about 23 months and she potty trained at night around the same time too.
  • Audrey was PT right at 2.5 - 30 months.
  • I voted "no, boy" but also could have voted "no-girl."  Abby was PTed just before turing 3 yo.  Once she made up her mind it was easy, but we struggled from about 27 months until that point.  With J I have no plans to actually try to PT anytime soon.  He sits on the potty before bath at night and has insisted on wearing underwear a few times (he got batman underwear in his stocking) but besides that nothing.

  • DD was "no, girl".  She finally got it at just after 3 years.  DS started PTing at 2y 6m and was fully trained a month later (during the day).
  • Megan PT'd at 29 months day and night.  She was already waking up dry in the morning and after naps though.
  • Mia was trained right before 3 and Nico right around 2.5.
  • I put other. I hope she'll be there by 2.5, but if not, no sweat. We just now tiptoeing into the land of PT. She is peeing on the potty before (and after) bath every night, but that's the only time she wants to.
    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • I talked to DD's pedi at her 2.5 year appointment about PTing and she said to just wait until she was ready..so that was the plan. Apparently she was ready about 2 weeks later and was PT'd in about a week (day and night).

I give most of the credit to daycare though..they pretty much did it for us and it helped that she saw other kids going on the potty.
  • Steven isn't even close and I don't think he'll be ready for a while.  He's over 3.
  • Both my girls were trained *just*  before 3-years-old.

I'm of the camp that it is easier to go on long trips (ie, our @ monthly trips to Houston) and parks and zoos and out shopping and just everyday life and just change diapers rather than look for public bathrooms.

I've never done every-30-minute trips to the bathroom and am so glad.  I would have poked my eyes out  in misery.

Julia is now 4 and still not night-trained.  Not too worried about it yet, but wish she'd figure it out.

  • L potty trained last month... so 29 months (**note - he still wears a diaper at night).  I attribute his PT'ing almost wholly to his daycare -- most of the kids in his class are PT and his teacher has been in that 2-yr-old room for 20 years now, so she kinda knows what she's doing.

  • T was 27-28 months when he was PT.
Mom to an almost 4 y/o and an almost 2 y/o. In process of growing our family through adoption.
  • My girl was potty trained pretty soon after she turned 2 - she picked it up quickly. My son (about 2.5 years), however, has no interest in sitting on the potty to pee. Actually, he fights it, so I've mostly given up for the time being. He does tell me when he has gone pee or poop and then goes to get me a diaper and asks me to change it. ::eye roll::  :)

  • Ben just turned 4 last week. Since 3.5, I would say that he is day time potty trained, but pee only. He will not poop in the potty. Apparently this is a common issue, though I have no idea how to solve the problem.

  • DS was day-trained at 2.5 and night-trained about 4 months later.  DD was day and night-trained by 2.5.

I'm pretty sure that she was ready a couple months earlier, but we had about 6 weeks of off-and-on traveling coming up so I held off.  I was NOT going to deal with a toddler telling me she had to go NOW, just as we'd passed the last town for the next 100 miles or deal with the terror that is the auto flushing toilet.  Big brother had enough issues with public restrooms that I was happy to change little sister in the reasonably clean back of the van, for a while longer.

  • Girl trained at 25 months (with all credit going to preschool!). Panties all day, pull up at night -- the pull up is wet maybe 4/7 days a week.
