I am a first time mommy and would like ideas of what to do when I want to get out of the house with baby for a change of scenery. I moved to Seattle 3 years ago from the midwest..so there may be things here that I may not know about yet! I love going for walks outside but there are days when the weather is not pleasant!
Walk around the mall
Rainy day zoo at Woodland Zoo(https://www.zoo.org/document.doc?id=115)
First Thursdays at the musuem (I know this tends to be very crowded)
Any other ideas?
Re: Things to do with baby when weather is blah
The libraries in our area have Infant Storytimes during the week. One library has it on Tuesday, one has it on Wednesday, and the other has it on Thursday.
Where are you located?
- Community play centers
- Storytimes at various libraries and bookstores
- Sign up for a class (SPARC, Gymboree, Little Gym, etc..)
- Children's Museum
- KidsQuest Museum
- go to Bellevue Mall and stop by the top floor and let your kid run around in the play area
- Twirl Cafe in Queen Anne
We also moved from the midwest and we realized blah days here are much more managable when you are properly suited. Get some rain boots for you and DC and a nice coat with a hood and you can still do a lot of the outdoor activities.
That being said, what area of town do you live in?
indoor pool hours
community centery indoor play play
Mall play play place
Childrens museum
I live in north seattle by Greenlake.
I did sign up my DS (6mos) for a parent/swim class! We start tomorrow!
Thank you for the ideas! Is there an alternative to Gymboree? I think its very expensive!
Is there a weekly play group in the north seattle area?
I collected a ton of daily activities on my old blog - if you click to the right on the days of the wee links.
Blog is now on Facebook only, but with new (fun, cheap, free) ideas as they come up....
