Midwive and or Doula for home water birth

Hi Everyone,

I am 26 years old and this is my first pregnancy. Im excited about the journey and plan on having a natural birth. Any recommendations for the los angeles area, I live on the west side. I also have PPO insurance which I hope can cover some of the charges.

 Thanks in advance

Peace & Blessings

I interviewed with them recently. They were very sweet and infromative.

I have yet to find a midwife who will bill your insurance. They will first bill you then submit the paperwork after your birth to your insurance company. The insurance company will in return send a check to either party. The full fees will have to be paid by you by your 38 weeks.

I have cigna PPO and midwives are out of network. For me that means the difference of a 90/10 and a 70/30. I read that you can submit an out of network expemption since they don't provide one in my area. We are TTC now and will have to cross that hurddle when we get a BFP.

On average the midwives will cost you between 3500 and 7000. It just depends on the services provided.

If you have a PPO, it will usually cover 50-75% of a CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife).  They will consider her an out-of-network provider.

Here are some midwives that serve the westside:

    Does that help?
