Intro and question

Hi ladies!

I'm currently pregnant with my first child, due middle of February.  Before getting pregnant, I was pretty active...jogging 3 miles 3-4 times per week, elliptical 1-2 times per week, and maybe a zumba class or something else thrown in for variety.

I had to cut back early on in pregnancy, so now my main activity is walking 3 miles 3-4 mornings per week. I'm already looking towards having this baby and getting back into my routine (as much as possible with a newborn).

For those of you who have children, how long after birth were you able to start working out again? How difficult was it to get back into the swing of things?

Re: Intro and question

  • For me it was pretty hard.  I ended up with an emergency c section which ended up being infected.  I ended up spending 4 days in the hospital because of it.  Then I had to get in the hang of working out with a baby, but even that changes because DS's schedule changed.  Just figure out what works  best for you!  :)

  • I had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery and a really easy recovery.  Our 4th day home DH and I started going on 3 mile walks.  I started running again at 3 weeks and was back in the gym at 6 weeks.
