Prior to getting pregnant, I was working out maybe 2x a week and running.
I pretty much stopped everything around 10 weeks. I'm 22 weeks now and feeling great and I'd really like to get back into a routine (maybe only 2x a week)
One of my issues is that I have a relatively high heart rate and it seems to get up to 180 without me even trying. Despite exercising regularly and being in shape, when I run, it's not uncommon for my HR to be 200. I'm assuming this is a no go and I should avoid running then?
I was looking into prenatal work out classes in my area as a way to start/get some ideas, but they don't have any listed yet for 2012.
I'm wondering where I should begin, so ANY advice would be helpful and appreciated! TIA
Re: Advice Please!!
This was my issue for my last pregnancy. I would be working at like 40% effort on the elliptical and my hr would be at like 180, it sucked. This time I am going to listen to my body over a general number. I ran 3 miles yesterday and it felt great.
I think different doctors will tell you 140 to cover their asses. Just like how they say don't eat sushi. Chances are you will be fine but there is always that chance I guess.
