  OWT says girl, but my "boy" I am pregnant with now has a normal HR of 135.

  I read that the wives tale is that above 140 indicates a girl and below 140 indicates a boy.   So far that was true for my sisters...All of my nieces were around 150 or higher and my sister told me that my nephew was usually in the 130's.  So if I go by that I should be having a boy since the HB was 136.  But who knows...it'll probabaly end up being a girl since everyone thinks I'm having a boy! LOL  I'll be happy either way.

  I was told slow hb is a boy, fast hb are girls... however DS had a fast hb, and the doctor told me she thought girl-WORNG!

  My mom was just telling me the other day that when she was pregnant with my younger brother, the DOCTORS told her they were almost positive it was a boy because of the heart rate.  Mine, comparatively, had been much higher when she had been pregnant with me.  They were right!  It makes me wonder if your first child is kind of the "base line" and then future children follow after - like if you have a boy first, then got pregnant with a girl, her heartbeat would be higher, even if it wasn't necessarily higher than 140.  Who knows - it's fun to guess and see if it's right!
