Working moms..or LO's on a schedule..question

If you are a working mom, or your LO is on a schedule my question is...

Do you let your LO "sleep in" on the weekends or days off when you are home?

Although my DS has a pretty good internal clock, even on the weekends I don't let him sleep past 7:30am (if he even makes it that far) . During the week I get him up around 7:15am..so I get him fed and ready to go to my Mom's or MIL's so I try to keep him on the same wake time.

My DH thinks we should let him sleep in on weekends.

  • I let her sleep in so I can sleep in :)

On weekdays I started out getting her up to eat at 5:30 before I left for work. Used to be a dreamfeed, but now she's used to it and wakes me up for it. I feed her and put her back in bed, she goes back to sleep until daddy gets her up at 7. On weekends, I just put her back in bed until she wakes up again on her own, usually around 8 or sometimes 9!

Since it doesn't mess with her weekday sleep I figure she really just needs the catchup and I let her do it.

  • I also let my DD sleep in.  She seems to be happier than if I have to wake her up for some reason.  I don;t find that it is any hard to get her up on Monday morning than any other week day.

My 4.5 year old DS gets up at the same time everyday so I am sure it is just a matter of time for DD too.  But in the meantime, I am enjoying it while it lasts.

  • I don't let her sleep in.  She's got a pretty set routine and we stick to it.  Maybe it's different because I have 2 kids, but we all thrive off of routine. Even on the weekends.

  • I would let my DD sleep in if she wanted to, but she doesn't. Even on weekends we are up by 6:00 - 6:30 every morning. Occasionally I will get a 7 am and I jump for joy!
  • I let him but he rarely does it.

  • I would let them sleep in if they would actually do it. Nope, they are up and at 'em at 5:00, as usual...

  • If either of my kids ever had the inclination to sleep in I would surely let them. However, they both like to wake up between 5:30 - 7:00 regardless of what day it is.

  • I definitly let him sleep in on my days off. Every now and then he will sleep till 10:30am! It does not seem to affect the days that I need to get him up early for work except that he skips his first nap when he sleeps in.

Yes, I let her sleep.  We let her sleep on demand.  I would never, every wake her up.  I think that's crazy.  The more sleep she gets, the happier she is.

  • This makes me laugh... sleeping in... HAHAHAHAHAH.... DD wakes up between 6:00 and 7:00 everyday.  If it was a weekend, and she "slept in" I would be sleeping too!  Of course then, the dog would want to be walked.

  • I would if he would let me!

Some days when he wakes (around 6) I won't turn on his light to go feed him, keep his room dim and try to put him back to bed (essentially, a very early first nap!) Sometimes he'll sleep another 1-2 hours, sometimes he'll play for 15 minutes then want to be up and about. I wish he wasn't such a morning person!
