Even though this cycle started off with around 5 balanced follies on my first u/s, we are now down to looking like we will get 2 at retrieval. I know under different circumstances I would have been cancelled... but with my age and experience last cycle, it looks like this is my reality.
I am frankly embarassed that I was worried about hyperstimming when starting IVF originally. Sigh. Live and learn...
Guess I am just sort of venting here. I am trying so hard to be positive, but I know you ladies will understand.

I do hope two are perfect and you get your BFP and take home baby. Good luck!
You are ladies are so sweet, thank you!!
Today the roller coaster of IVF continued. At the appt this am, my size 16 had jumped overnight to a 23 with the other one close behind. The smaller follies were around 9s and some had regressed even a little more. So we are triggering tonight with ER on Thursday. Then I get a call in the afternoon that my bloodwork came back with an upsetting change. My E2 had dropped! The RE called and said they were re-running the bloodwork. This same thing happened last cycle and I was so upset to be re-living that, and was afraid of not making it to ET again. But then he called again and we discussed it in depth and came up with a plan.
He said although it is atypical, he feels my E2 drop was because of the smaller follies that have fallen away in the last few days and are no longer producing estrogen. This made sense to me, because my E2 is around 400 which seems about right for 2 follicles? My progesterone this cycle is still low, which is good, this time last cycle it was already going up at this point which he said meant that the body was preparing for implantation before we were ready for the embies. Considering my response to the last cycle, my age, the 2 frosties I have waiting, my "picture perfect" lining, my tubal issue, the $ spent already and around 60 injections so far, etc., he felt we should go forward with the retrieval and transfer. PHEW!
It's amazing to me how just those 2 follies are making me feel like I have billiard balls in my ovaries. I am ready for Thursday!
Hang in there!
I have to ask a dumb question - sorry for being nosey. If you have 2 frosties, why did you not attempt a FET before going through the expense of another fresh cycle? Did you purchase a package from your RE and wanted to try all fresh before going with the FET? No judgement - just honestly curious!
Not a nosey or dumb question!
When we got to this same point in my first cycle (day of trigger) my E2 went down and my progesterone was already rising. My RE said it was not good/supportive of implantation and he felt that we should freeze the 2 we got and not transfer them... and then try another fresh cycle and combine the frozens with whatever we got this cycle and try when my levels were better. My RE helped with expenses and meds, which made this do-able for us!
This cycle I had the same drop on trigger day (ugh!!) - but my prog is still low, so I am in a little better situation this time around. Hoping the 2 I have are mature and fertilize, and then we will put all 4 in...
