I am putting together LO's baby book. I have already started the first page that will have her birthday/weight..and all that fun stuff. The next page is pregnancy "firsts", and then the third page I wanted to have "notes to Emma". It would be notes from family and friends. The best time I can think of to get the notes written would be at the showers (I am having 3). Is it bad to request this at my showers? Also, has anyone seen this be done before? (:
Baby number ONE on the way!

Re: Wondering if this is common.
The host of my wedding shower did this. It was nice to open the letters and some were marked to not read til specific dates (some of which haven't been opened... There's the "For when sex gets boring" one that always makes me laugh!) It's a cute idea, nevertheless, and I personally like the idea for a baby shower much better. I found some of my letters awkward >.>
My SIL did this for my family shower. She just used notecards w/ stickers and said write baby, mom or dad a note. Then she put them all in one of those little photo albums for us. I thought it was nice.
(My mom also did something similiar for my HS graduation, and I still like to read what people wrote almost 10 years later)
This, you could even set up a little table where they walk in where they could right a quick now and a box, jar, large baby bottle that they could put the notes in after.

A shower is a great time to get this done! Definitely not bad. Ask away
Also, just want to say that I love your baby book ideas
We did this at my shower as well. The ones from special people who are gone now are especially nice to have. There were tiny blue cards with blue baby carriages stamped on the front with little diamonds on the center of the wheels.
They also sell beautiful card boxes to save special cards and little scraps of everyday life. That was one of the best gifts from the shower. I've kept every card from baptism to birthday.
that actually sounds like a really cute idea, and the shower is the perfect place to ask! you'll have everybody in one spot, and they'll all have your LO on their minds.
i also like the idea of giving them blanks to fill in as someone else mentioned.
it'll help out the people who aren't good at being eloquent on the spot, and hopefully deter the inappropriate ("when sex gets boring"? seriously?).
good luck!
