F/U to MIL frustration post & be careful what you wish for
I posted last week that I was feeling frustrated that MIL hadn't spent much time with our girls since arriving in mid December. Good news--she came on New Year's day and is staying until tomorrow (when her flight leaves). Bad news--BIL and DH had a HORRIBLE fight on New Year's, which was upsetting for everyone involved, MIL has been trying to mediate between the 2 and she and DH are on polite speaking terms, barely. Did I mention she's here until tomorrow and I work from home and the kids and DH are back at school/work/day care?
So I am happy that she decided to come. But I think I have had my fill of family for awhile.
And I'm hoping that 2012 is going to go up from here...;)

If I have learned anything in 2011, getting in the middle is not helpful at all. I hope your DH and BIL work things out. Sometimes a little time away and reflection/distance are needed to cool things off. Hopefully your MIL will recognize that.
Enjoy the time you have with her, make it about your LOs and how much you enjoy spending time with her and try to leave BIL out of it as much as possible. GL

Hopefully you can use today to help MIL feel welcome without getting in the middle too.
