XP- Herbal teas for sleep

I have a few different teas that I'm afraid to try because I don't know if they are safe... I'm going to call my midwife today and see if they are OK, because I need something to help me sleep, but here's my question.

What teas (other then pure chamomile) do you all drink to help you sleep?   I don't mind chamomile being an ingredient, but I don't like it all on it's own.

The teas I have right now are Mother's Little Helper Organic Tea from David's Teas and Cloud 9 Organic Tea from Tea & Co...

Re: XP- Herbal teas for sleep

  • Honestly, if I needed help sleeping, I took a benedryl. I'm not a huge fan, but it's been well studied for safety in pregnancy. Herbs in teas have not. In this instance, I felt more comfortable with the pill.

I'm not opposed to taking pills, but when my father was dying I felt like I was becoming dependent on various sleeping pills, and now have an aversion to them.  I'll take it if there is no other choice, but I love tea, so I thought this could be a good option for me!

  • Trader Jo's brand "bed time tea."

I dont know if its the ingredients or just the oh so relaxing taste but it kills the crazy PG woman brain and lets me go to bed.. Most of the time.... If I remember to drink it. All ingredients are listed in my herbal books as safe for PG and lactation.

  • I just drink chamomile tea. For flavor i'll add a flavored tea like blueberry tea.
