BTK would be the initials of our baby if it is a boy. I had no idea of this serial killer, but DH does not think it's acceptable for our child to have these initials. I don't think it's a big deal....do you think it's a big deal?
This was my immediate thought. It would probably be a dealbreaker for me, but most people don't use their middle names often, so if you're both okay with it, then go for it.
ETA: Most of the BTK stuff happened before I was born (I was 3 when the last killing happened) and I STILL have that association. Something to consider.
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

Bind Torture Kill came to mind immediately...and I live nowhere near where the murders happened. What's the name? Are there any other options you're considering that wouldn't give him these initials? Personally, I wouldn't do it.
I just had to look up the story behind BTK, because I had never even heard of it before. But, yikes. That's crazy. Yeah, I don't know about using those initials after hearing about that. But, then again...maybe there's a lot more people like me out there who had never even heard of it?
I also thought of the serial killer b/c even though I'm not really familiar with it, there's an episode of Law&Order:Special Victims Unit based off of or inspired by those killings. I think they changed the letters to stand for "Rape, Torture, Kill," or something like that, but that's how I knew about it.
I don't know when the murders happened, but I'm 23 and I've heard about them, so I don't know if those initials are going away. Also, I'm pretty sure Lifetime just made a movie about it. Those initials creep me out a bit. Any way you can save the middle name for the next baby?

below the knee..or serial killer :P
I live in Wichita, so yes. Personally, I would definitely not use a name with those initials since I live here.
If you live far away, I would take it into consideration, but I might still be okay with using the names.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
big...time...king...
just kidding.
nope.
yeah. no. Sorry.
wasn't that the name of a famous serial killer?
I wouldn't worry about it, but if it really concerns you, I'd nix it.
