Progesterone supplements = irritated

It gets worse every cycle... after a few days of taking progesterone, I start to get all irritated and sometimes raw/itchy down there.  It goes away when AF arrives.  Anyone have any advice for soothing that area while on the supplements?  I only take them at night to try to minimize the messiness, even that doesn't really help.

The best relief I've heard is just a cold washcloth... but unfortunately that doesn't help the rest of the day!

    Sorry you are dealing with this. I've only done progesterone injections so I'm not sure about the supplements.

    what kind are you doing? I have done crinone and endometrim and prefer endometrim because it is a pill instead of a cream and it doesn't irritate me. Maybe ask for a different kind.

    Married 11/27/09 and TTC right away
    Dx: Complete septate uterus with cervical duplication, endometrial polyps, PCOS, endometriosis, hypo thyroid, luteal phase defect
    4 uterus surgeries to correct my complete septum and to remove polyps and 2 years of seeing the RE, medicated cycles and IUIs
    Baby 1 and 2: BFP 3/3/11 with 2 babies EDD 11/1/11, M/C 4/6/11
    Baby #3: 8/11 pregnant EDD 4/27/11 and m/c:(

    4th septum resection on 5/31/13.
    Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!

    My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!

    I have no advice, the only time I have taken it was orally. Not sure if there's a huge difference, but maybe you could ask for that instead.

    I'm taking prometrium in pill form, 200mg vaginally. I have never taken it orally because I understood that "PG" symptoms would be more frequent and it wasn't as effective. But that's a good idea, maybe I'll try that for a cycle.

    Are you doing medicated cycles?  My RE likes to do a trigger hcg shot and then a booster 5 days later to jump start your body to natrually increase its progesterone production.  The MF is bad, but it's worked for me so far.  Might be worth asking about.
