Ceasar Salad Dressing..

Has anchovies in it.. Anyone know the risks of eating it while KU? Is it ok or should be avoided?

  • The risk is that you might birth an anchovy. I had it multiple times while pg, made fresh at a nice restaurant, and there were no issues. Bottled/pre-packaged Cesar dressing isn't an issue since no raw egg would be used for those. That would be the concern, btw, not the minuscule amount of a harmless fish.

Guess instead of calling my unborn child my lil bean. I will switch to my lil anchovy. Because I love ceasar salad! Thanks for the info lol

  • Nobody will take away my 99 cent crispy chicken caesar wraps from Wendy's. Even though someone should.

I never knew it had anchovies. That's so strange to me. Doesn't worry me, though.

  • Some Ceasar dressing has it and some doesn't. Either way, the amount you are going to get in a serving of dressing is not going to be a problem.

  • The reason that caesar salad is on some people's 'do not eat' list is not because of the anchovies but, rather, because some dressings are made with raw eggs, which carries the chance of contracting Salmonella.
